He might not. If he doesn't I won't crow one bit about being right about his talent. I have said I could live with Stanton, Kolb, Zabransky and several others. I just want to once again address the position in a positive way.

I have nothing against upgrading the back-up position... I just don't want to do it with a first day pick. :laugh2:

Good job on the mock.

I still think edwards is the third best qb, but apparently detroit wants him as their 2nd round pick.

So I could live with beck, and I do hope we take a good qb in the third.

Zabransky could be had later, so that is why I am not for a QB in the first day.

WHAT the heck does that mean? Am I the only one who doesn't know? Btw, Hos, I really like your trade scenario. Very doable and logical for both parties involved.....

Love this draft even better than the old 4th one. Best draft I have seen including the so called experts. The last pick is an absolute steal in my mind and for what I read about him. Love the CB pick, i think he will be a good one. Spencer at 30 is very good value. I heard that he is moving up. Also Joe Thomas, Wisconsin OT, reported that Spencer is the best player he faced. That is saying a lot. I would be very pleased if this happens. Great job Hos.

It's entirely about projected value. I like Beck's value. It could end up being a steal. If we get a QB who can be a starter in this league he can be traded to a stupid team like Atlanta did with Houston.

I have no problem with that, but you can get that same value later in the draft. I am interested more in unearthing QBs like the Packers did...later picks, not a 3rd rounder.

Brooks was a 4th rounder, but Brunell and Hasselback were 5-6th rounders respectively.

Until I see someone WE get in the 4th, 5th, or 6th round being in the same league as these examples...I won't hold my breath.

I like Z...I hate to say moxie because it has been beaten to death with romo but that just seems to be the right word to fit Z IMO.

However even with that said. I think Beck is by far the better player.

Oh I really like Zabransky. If we get him no one will be happier. Like you said, I just think Beck is better and worth the price of a day 1 pick.

None of those QBs were looked at as surefire starters when they came out...that is why they lasted until they did.

I just would hate to see a weak QB class make us reach for someone who would normally be there a round later in a more talented QB draft.

I don't think Beck in the 3rd is a reach at all. Good value.

One other factor is that he will be 26 before the season starts.

I'd take him in the 5th, otherwise I'm content with Brad Johnson and either a later round QB like Zabransky or Baker.

So were Chad Hennings, Roger Staubach, and Terence Newman. We've had decent luck with more mature players. No reason that I can see to shy away from him for that.

Hennings was an 11th round pick, Staubach was a 10th round pick and they knew he had a naval committment, and Newman was slotted as a starter from day one. Not really good comparisons.

You can always find a way for something not to be a good comparison if you look hard enough. It was about age.
