So when I found out the game would be Saturday night, and not Sunday, I gave a little grimace because I knew that, to be able to make it, I'm gonna need a little good luck.

I live in Northern Virginia, and have flown out to Dallas most of the home games this year.

Saturday, however, I have to coach my son's basketball team before I can leave. That means that 1:30 is the earliest possible time I can start my trip.

Dulles, the airport nearest me, has a flight that leaves a little after 4:30 and gets into Dallas around 7:15... no good.

That means Reagan National, an airport that's about 45 miles from my home. So I found a direct flight out of there that leaves at 3:00 and gets in at 5:30.

That means I'm going to have to hope that my son's game starts and ends on time, then haul butt to Reagan National (probably an hour long drive), hope the D.C. traffic isn't a factor, and make it through security and onto my plane by 3:00.

Then I have to hope the plane leaves on time and gets into DFW in time to make it to the stadium, park, and get to my seat before the 7:00 kickoff.

After all that, I darn well better be rewarded with a Cowboys playoff win!

So anyway, wish me luck in this amazing race... I hope I make it!

Even if Dulles had a flight leaving at 2, you still probably wouldn't get to Dallas until midnight. I hate that airport so much. I've missed 2 flights because of ridiculous 2.5 hour security lines.

That is one nice thing about National... security lines are much more manageable usually. Crossing my fingers!

Yep... made it to six home games this year, and then the game here in D.C. Playoff game will make it 8 and then hopefully the NFC Championship game will be 9!

Good luck. It sounds like you're really pushing it, so be safe whatever you do. Do you happen to have a friend who is both a cop and a Cowboys fan who could give you a police escort to the airport?

No, my flight lands at 5:30 central... game kicks off 7:00 central.

I wish you well, but I hit a huge security line at Reagan at 6 AM if you can believe that. Do you already have your boarding pass? If so, that'll save you a little time. I assume you're not checking any bags.

Yep, I'll have the boarding pass printed out and I only have a small carry on. It's a Cowboys bag, but I'm seriously thinking of switching to a nondescript bag for this trip... if I have to talk my way to the front of the security line, I don't want some bitter Redsk*n fan blocking my way.
