My Amazing Race

Yep, I'll have the boarding pass printed out and I only have a small carry on. It's a Cowboys bag, but I'm seriously thinking of switching to a nondescript bag for this trip... if I have to talk my way to the front of the security line, I don't want some bitter Redsk*n fan blocking my way.

It'll be tight, but God speed.

If we lose, I am so going to blame you and Concord for that sig pic. It is bad karma. I can't believe he wanted that to pay off a sig bet. Pure freaking ugliness and bad karma. When can it leave forever?

If he lets me out early, I'd be happy to lose it or sub it with something else, but I'm a man who honors his bets.

I told him a week, so it's off on Monday.

The last thing I want is bad karma, though, so I'll add this to every post I make from here on out:

yeah that is much better bro..I was JUST going to post about how terrible that was for that kid to make that as your sig..I mean geez

You should be good to go. On the 22nd of November I flew out of Atlanta to DFW and my flight landed pretty close to 11:00 CST and kickoff was of course at 12:00 CST. I was in my seat right before the national anthem when America's Sweethearts were doing the can-can.

And you're right - my hometown is Northern VA, and I love Reagan National. The security lines are generally non-existant.

Atlanta, on the other hand, is known for epic security lines. It doesn't matter if you try flying out at 9:30PM on a Tuesday.

So when I found out the game would be Saturday night, and not Sunday, I gave a little grimace because I knew that, to be able to make it, I'm gonna need a little good luck.

I live in Northern Virginia, and have flown out to Dallas most of the home games this year.

Saturday, however, I have to coach my son's basketball team before I can leave. That means that 1:30 is the earliest possible time I can start my trip.

Dulles, the airport nearest me, has a flight that leaves a little after 4:30 and gets into Dallas around 7:15... no good.

That means Reagan National, an airport that's about 45 miles from my home. So I found a direct flight out of there that leaves at 3:00 and gets in at 5:30.

That means I'm going to have to hope that my son's game starts and ends on time, then haul butt to Reagan National (probably an hour long drive), hope the D.C. traffic isn't a factor, and make it through security and onto my plane by 3:00.

Then I have to hope the plane leaves on time and gets into DFW in time to make it to the stadium, park, and get to my seat before the 7:00 kickoff.

After all that, I darn well better be rewarded with a Cowboys playoff win! :D

So anyway, wish me luck in this amazing race... I hope I make it!

Best of luck to you! I've told you before that you are indeed a true fan. I have a long 7 hour trip also, but only in my car. I've been so excited since I bought tickets that I can't eat or sleep. I can only think of two other times I've been this excited: days leading up to my wedding day, and the days leading up to when my twin kids were born.

One of the other posters beat me to it, but I'll have a 6 pack of Shiner for you in the parking lot after the game if the other offer falls through.

Thanks man... where do you usually tailgate?

If I can, I'll definitely try to stop by.

Just tell them you just got off an international flight, and your connecting flight leaves in 20-30 minutes! Usually gets me to the front of the security line quick.

if you had that sig before the last game than don't change a thing. NOBODY CHANGE A THING! whatever everybody has going right now is working.

That's not bad advice.

Too bad that there's no International flights at Reagan National.

I will beg and plead my way to the front, though, if it comes to that.

You've suffered enough.

Get rid of it.

:D

Good luck!! The DC metro is fairly reliable, if you are close enough maybe you can take that. I heard Reagan National has one of the toughest security checks so I hope you don't hit any delays there either.

Good luck dude...I met you a couple of years ago at the Commanders game during the Dallas fan forum tailgate party.......That was the rest up our starters game at the end of the season....:(

This is year 1 out of the last 5 that I HAVENT been to Dallas with my son for a game....I would have loved to make a trip this year but never had the chance, me and the boy will start another streak next year. Good luck to you in the adventure.....

I am so grateful for the luck of having a Sat night game.....On Sunday I have to have my daughter at the airport (Dulles) by 3:50 pm for a 6:55 flight to Austria.......So if Dallas was playing at 4:00 on Sunday I would have been caught in a very bad situation of having to have missed the game.......Now, I can chill out and watch the game with no worries, then hopefully send my baby girl off to study in Europe for a semester happy as a man can be with Dallas having (I hope like hell) advanced in the playoffs.

Again, Good luck to ya pal and have a great time at the game Saturday Night!!!!
