I so bad wanted a shutout. However, as Parcells once said, defense will always have one drive at least when things don't go your way.
1. This was a nice solid win. Defense kept getting off the field - offense had very few 3 & outs (if any). even though the quarterback wasn't on his game, everyone else picked up the slack.
2. Play of the Game: This has to be the Charles Tapper sack. I got unglued on the 3rd & 11 conversion by Eli to Lewis. If the Giants would have came back to win, then that would have been the play of the game. So Eli drives the Giants down the field and it really looked like it was going to be 16-7 Dallas. Think about this - New York, down by 16 at the start of the 3rd quarter, took 10 minutes off the clock for the Cowboys and only came away with 3! That is a huge win for the Cowboys. FINALLY, someone on defense stepped up and made a HUGE play. That somebody was CHARLES TAPPER!
Honorable Mention goes to Anthony Brown. He stepped up also.
3. Best Unit in the NFL: That still belongs to the Cowboy Offensive Line. Folks, that Giants Defense is for real. They are really good. For the 2nd year in a row, they held Dallas to 19 points at home. Dallas had over 34 minutes of possession time on that team. Dallas was able to extend some drives. Dallas got almost 400 yards on that defense!!! That is probably the best defense the Cowboys will see all season. The Cowboys did have some snags getting the ball in the end zone. However, that is where you tip the cap to the Giants defense. The Giants defense have my respect.
4. The Insane play of the Game: Cole Beasley - UNBELIEVABLE! That crazy catch took 3 minutes off the clock. That is 3 less minutes for Eli to make a comeback - plus backing up the Giants deep in their own end.
5. Bonehead play of the Game: I reluctantly give this to Maleik Collins throwing Eli to the ground. I am glad it did not come back to bite them, but Dallas could have gotten their defense off the field earlier.
6. One of my favorite plays: On a 2nd and 4 near midfield in the 2nd quarter, Dak pitched right to Elliott on a sweep. I saw every hole plugged by that Giants defense. Zeke plants his foot, lowers his shoulders, and busts through and turns a nothing gain into 10 yards. Ezekiel Elliott is special.
