The thing that frustrated more than anything else yesterday was that Romo won't get props like he deserved.
There is one key play that really stood out to me. It was like 3rd and 19 (one of many third and longs due to penalties). Romo steps up to the line, directs his lineman like he always does, then took the snap. The pocket broke down, Romo moved to his right and then just threw a rocket to Patrick Crayton.
The other two plays I really loved was his TD to Glenn - just another example of him reading the defense and hitting the right guy, and then also his perfectly thrown pass right over Crayton's shoulder down the sideline for a big gain.
But Romo was so clutch yesterday. That 30+ yard pass to Witten at the end of the game should've been the kind of pass you remember as one of those clutch plays made by a good quarterback to finish off the game. But because of the blocked field goal it will be remembered as one of the most bizarre losses in Cowboys' history.
For me the most frustrating thing about yesterday wasn't that we lost, it was that Romo's astounding play was completely wasted and he won't get the props he deserves for it. Ah well, if he can pick apart some more highly-touted defenses this year, he'll finally get credit as he deserves.
Man I love this guy. He's just so poised, he reads defenses so well, and he just puts the ball on the money. There are very few QBs that I love to watch simply because of their mechanics. P. Manning is one of them. I love how he reads defenses at the line, then gets back in the pocket, always moves his feet, and then delivers those rocket passes. Romo isn't the same player, but the way he too reads defenses and just gets the ball out of there makes him so enjoyable to watch.
I really wish this team was playing up to the potential it deserves, because I have very little doubt that with Romo we really could get deep into the playoffs. That's two road games where he has been cool as can be.
