My Confidence in Garrett Went Up a Point

You know. I don't like to let the guy off the hook too early after he hasn't proven much. But, wow, this draft class is outstanding. I've never been this impressed with the whole draft class before, from top to bottom.

So that gives me a bit more confidence than reason to be not confident in him.

So I'm upgrading my confidence level in Garrett to a 4 of 10. I'm hoping the next preseason game will prompt me to add one more point and I'll go into the season with a 5 heading in.....

That's good for a guy like me who really questions Garrett's ability as a coach.

The offseason counts too. And I think he had a good one.

I was trying to narrow down the 53 man roster and it's tough. I've never seen as much talent from top to bottom. And I think we've seen a lot of talent over the past 2-3 years.

So far, so good. But I'm not giving the guy any slack just yet.

He has an eight in my book, but really, it's not as important as it was in his past years. The real guy to trust is our new play caller, with him, my trust is about a 6 of 10

I'm a big garrett supporter but if we don't start seeing improvement in the wins column then he might make a fantastic gm rather than headcoach. If Jerry would allow it that might be interesting.

I hated Garrett and went in on his several times on my blog but actually after the way he carried the team after Jerry Browns death I gained my respect for him. This last week with Murray helped as well. It will be funny if just as we start trust Garrett Jerry gives him the axe lol

Shouldn't the General Manager ultimately get credit for a strong draft class? :p

I don't think it's a 2005 draft, but it doesn't look like a 2006 draft either.

When considering the results of our draft since 2010, I'd say we've been a top 5 drafting team. Remarkable change.

I support Garrett and believe in him but I also know this team needs to win and win now or else his days will be numbered. I'm pulling for him but being realistic as well.

Your giving points for preseason games? Don't you know they mean nothing?

I really like the drafts since Garrett was named head coach but I've been less than impressed with his coaching style and results. He went up a notch in my book with the benching of Murray even though they recovered the fumble. That takes me back to the Jimmy Johnson era when players were held accountable. It may seem like a very small thing, but to me, its a step in the right direction towards changing the culture surrounding the team that has held it down and limited the success. I hope he keeps it up and even increases the accountability aspect.

i support garrett because he is the coach of the team i support, however, i am not a fan of suspending reality and ignoring my lying eyes. the "believe" era with garrett should be over IMO for any rational person because "believe" has been trumped by real tangible results in the last 2 years. not just the average 8-8 records but basic coaching mistakes, errors of judgement, lack of discipline, mistakes by the team and on and on

so, at this point, i dont "believe" anymore but i do "hope" because it is a new season

I have said many times around here any HC that is hired I give him the time to put his team together for the most part that is 3 years on avg around the NFL. I give Garrett no more, no less than I would give any coach. I like the man and I do think he can get the job done but in the end it comes down to results not how I feel about him.
