My conspiracy theory

BP has told JJ that he has at best one year left. JJ agrees and wants a plan for succession. Interested in Cowher. BP knows Lebeue and talks to him and through him Cowher. Cowher says OK. So Lebeue comes here for a year. And then Cowher. That is my primary conspiracy theory. My fall back is if Cowher says no. Then its Capers coming as DC and then HC after BP leaves.

I thought it was already reported that Capers declined any overtures from Parcells (or was that the Nyquil talking?). If true, your fallback position is full of holes. With all due respect (hehe).

There may be something to the staff search theory given the radio silence from Fort Parcells these days, but what it means in terms of warm bodies is anybody's guess. Only the brave or desperate are likely to take a true 1-year assistant deal, if it's indeed but 1 year before the Tuna sets sail.

As to the talking to one person through another part: possible, but about as iffy a prediction as the hot college coach of the minute.

If people are convinced that we will move to a state of a coach only staying here 3-4 years at the most, we are indeed risking mediocrity: no long-term continuity at the HC spot. It could be argued that assistants can be promoted, but that assumes that a sufficient number of the assistants themselves are worthy, and if they are, they can't all become HCs here, so you stand a good chance of losing talented staff. That too is a fairly risky plan IMO.

I'd sooner throw dice. In Vegas.

That would be nice.

But I still think Bowles/Pasq. is the DC.

Maybe Henning comes in as the OC. Or we keep the status quo there.

But I hope your first scenario comes true.

The sad part is I don't think there's any master plan here. I think Jones is waiting and Bill is thinking. Simple as that.

My conspriracy theory is an add-on to what I said above. I believe neither Jerry or BP know yet what Bill will do, but Jerry is not freaking out because Bill has told Jerry that Al Groh will do it if he leaves. So Jerry believes he has someone Bill-light in his back pocket. Probably way off base and I *think* Groh is happy and might have a hard time getting out of contract, but still, it's all I have to make up at this time. ;-)

Maybe Parcells will go ahead and leave. If not, I would rather have Mora Jr. come in as DC and take over as HC when Parcells leaves.

I actually said like this (LeBeau/Cowher part not the caper part) last week...but I also said it was a FAR reaching and unlikely idea.

Either way, just wanted you to know that you are not alone in the idea, even if it is probably not going to happen. :)

for public consumption Capers said no. Or hinted to someone he "trusted not to talk". With tampering rules and all that stupid garbage about having to give interviews to minorities even though you know exactly who you want as your coach it makes a weird sort of sense to go back door and second hand and so forth.
