And we all know how right that thing has been...:banghead:

After hearing Tnew on the Sirius today I am more convinced our most pressing need is CB regardless of who is on the board when we draft. If he isn't signed before camp, I doubt he will be back. With that said, here is how I see things going in the draft....

Pick 22- Rogers-Cromartie (Viable alternative Leodis McKelvin)

Pick 28 James Hardy (Hope he slides, Viable alternative Limas Sweed)

Pick 60 Jamaal Charles (Viable Alternative Ray Rice)

Any of the above combinations filling those three needs is ok with me.

Tnew wants Big Bucks and he wants it now. FWIW, he also said he wanted Jerry to throw in Halle Barry.

The price for CBs is so outrageous that I bet we couldn't even use the Franchise tag on him for a year and save some cash.

I am leaning more and more towards using both 1st round picks for CBs. Prepare for him and Henry to both be replaced. Kepe them as long as we can, but when it is no longer financially smart to do that...thank them and say goodbye. They are past 30. Not worth the monster deals. IMO.

Probably right, but everyone thought Brady Quinn would be gone in the top 10 last year as well. Strange things happen man, strange things.

I can't see paying stupid money for an over 30 CB either.

It's sounding more and more like Pacman may be coming. That may be so that they don't have to draft 2 CBs this year. They'll roll the dice perhaps.

I'd rather draft 2 guys, or even 3, but that is a lot of youth. I still remember Thurman's Thieves though and am not hesitant about rookies.

As I mentioned in the Pacman thread, we need two new CB's this year. Cheaper to draft them than go the FA route.

Even the possible addition of Pacman still would require (IMO) the drafting of a CB in the 1st round.

I think it would be one of the best decisions that Jerry can make. We would essentially have of the best young defenses in the league for the next 5-7 years.

i'm thinking IF we don't trade to get Mcfadden maybe use a 1st and 3rd on cb for these reasons of t-new wanting that much and Henerys health and age. Pacman is going to need help:D

I absolutely agree and wouldn't mind drafting 2 or even 3 if we do get Pacman. He comes with no guarantees he can avoid suspension, we lost 2 guys and have 2 more who are so unproven that the idea of loyalty to them ought to be foreign to anyone other than their immediate family.

I think even with PacMan, we're going to need at least 1 more CB, if not 2, PLUS we may need to draft a FS as well.

I'm not sure we're going to spend top dollar to re-sign Hamlin either.

Maybe Watkins/C Brown is ready to assume the starter position year after, but if not, we probably should look for a starting quality FS somewhere in the Draft as well.

I will be sooo mad if we don't re-up TNews contract. TNew is one of our best talents and he is also becoming a real locker room type of guy. If yo are saying no to TNew than what about Ware..He is gonna want a monster contract too..You gotta spend money to make money.

I wanted two CB's before the Tnew interview, I think it's just smart and to let anything concerning Jones effect our draft strategy would just be irresponsible to the team and the fan base.

TNew can claim he won't resign during the season, but if money is on the table and he see's one or two guys go down with Achilles and ACL injuries he might rethink that stand.

Passing up 50 million for a possible 70 million isn't that easy.

Other than the obvious, he wants big money....... Is there a possible clip of it somewhere online? Or a possible recap?

Considering that it is looking more and more like 2010 will be an uncapped year, I wouldn't be surprised to see Jerry Jones us that to his advantage and reup everyone and put a large part of the bonus in the first year of the contract so that the players still get the money they want guaranteed, but the club doesn't have as much rolled over into previous years.

Exactly. What does that mean, he wants money and wants it now? That he's hoping for a contract extension very soon?
