SDE McPhee. He'll be cheaper and as productive compared to the A- listers available.

Gone-Carter, Carr, Selvie, Hayden

Return-McClain, Durant, Moore, Spencer

Add
Stephen Paea DT-gives the team a very strong 1-tech who could play the three in a pinch as well. 6.5 sacks last season and improving each year.

Brandon Graham de -under-utilized in Philly, this scheme fits him better. Plays with power/intensity which Maranelli loves.

Chris Culliver, cb- Truth be told I prefer Carr coming back, but not sure if they can make the financials work. Culliver is a nice fall back, still young and can play outside or slot. Pretty good size and very fast.

He had 10.5 sacks... As for Hardy... If that is the case, why would the Panthers move on?

It's not rape for Hardy, it's domestic violence he is accused of

He was franchised by Carolina last year so he is a FA. They would have to tack on 20% to the 13m they paid him last year not to play. I think they are just ready to walk away.

As far as talent, I think we would all love to have Suh on this team. I don't think it will happen though. So I wanted to add a list of free agents that I would be interested in who will be available. There will be a common trend amongst these players. They will all be 27 or younger.

Resign

Rolando McClain, ILB, 26
Got dinged up this season, but would have to think that he is even better with an offseason of work. Guy provides attitude when in shape and healthy.

Bruce Carter, OLB, 27
Light seemed to come on. Yes I know that he played SAM which isn't a position of priority, but he also starred playing the nickel. guy had 5 INTs and 8 pass defended.

Free Agents

Jason Pierre Paul, DE, 26
It would freak all of us out if this happened. Has been up and down with the Giants. Has the talent when healthy. I think we have a defensive coordinator who would get the very best out of him. Guy can be dominant when he is on.

Nick Fairly, DT, 27
Ok, so this is not Suh, but he can be disruptive against the run as well. He would take over for Hayden and be our 1 technique.

Rahim Moore, FS, 25

With no true Free safety on our roster, this could be our guy. Had 4 INTs and caused 2 fumbles this year. This would allow us to shift Church down to Nickel linebacker in our nickel/dime packages having Wilcox in the game instead of Heath.

Player that I'm excited to have back
Sean Lee

4-3

Barry Church/Rahim Moore
Scandrick/Carr (paycut)
Bruce Carter/Rolando McClain/Sean Lee
JPP/Crawford/Fairley/Lawrence

We still have depth at linebacker as Hitchens can back up all three spots. Wilcox competes with Rahim Moore but I think ultimately looses out to him. Still that competition is something we thrive on. Brent gets a full offseason to get in shape. We will also have Okoye for the offseason to see what he has.

We then draft best player available. Even with these upgrades, I wouldn't shy away from another pressure player. I definitely wouldn't shy away from a corner.

JPP has 12.5 sack this season, so he's obviously not "done", but rumors are that he will get a 70M contract.

Yeah, Graham has a reputation of being a very hard and dilligent worker in Philly.

That would be a change from his days in college though, when he was deemed to be a bit lazy. He was a highly ranked 255lb OLB/DE in high school and showed up for summer camp before his frosh season at Michigan weighing over 300 lbs. He was so big the coaches just stuck him at DT but he eventually wised up, lost weight and got back down that 260ish level.

I'm not really enamored with JPP, but he did have more sacks in the final stretch of the season than any Cowboy. Was actually as disruptive as he had been since his rookie year.

I see this a lot where some compare a players production in one system and around surrounding players (also against different teams) to determine if they would be better than what we already have. I am not arguing for or against JPP, but I would not state that he would be an upgrade to what we have just because his starts were better than our players....for all we know without dissecting every play, he might have benefited from mistakes made by the offense that allowed him to get a sack for being at the right place at the right time. In other words, stats alone can't be used to identify the potential of a FA player.

Without the off-field issues Hardy would be my first choice. And from what I've read about the charges it definitely isn't Ray Rice Thug behavior, its late night drunk and stupid behavior by both parties. It wouldn't surprise me to see the charges settled and Hardy signed by Dallas afterward.

For sacks alone that's a valid point, but when you're looking at disruption it's a more holistic measurement and JPP was as disruptive as anyone in the league over the final six weeks. I'm personally torn over whether it was a contract motivated stretch because he had been largely silenced for much of the previous two seasons. Even in the games against the Cowboys he'd done next to nothing but he looked like a completely different animal this season against T. Smith.
