It's amazing how brain chemistry works. After the Bears game I was prepared to box up all my Cowboys stuff and send it to Jerry. I was disgusted. By midweek that week my anger began to subside and look forward to a Matt Flynn led Packers squad at home. By Saturday evening I was fired up and could not wait to relish in what was going to be a sure victory! Come Sunday evening I was once again in the pits of depression. Could not believe I allowed myself to get sucked back in. You know..fool me once...twice...thirty times....etc. But come the next Sunday, and after a week of playing with the playoff generator on Yahoo, I was ready. We still had a chance! Yes! Victory at the last second against a dysfunctional 3 win team with a backup quarterback in his 3rd start! What could be better? Then came the darkness. Romo...done for the season. I was resigned to a loss, started to peruse draft prospects and congratulate my Eagle following friends. But guess what? It's Friday which has allowed those amazing neurotransmitters...dopamine....serotonin....to work their magic. I am now convinced that Kyle Orton will lead this team to victory on Sunday! Ah just another day in the brain of a diehard Cowboys fan.

I do not feel horrible about this game at all. I have used this example earlier in the week: The Saints game I knew was going to be ugly. Leading up to that game I knew we had no chance to even keep it somewhat close. I dont have that feeling this week. I'm not saying this will be a Dallas win, but I think they have a puncher's chance. And if they lose, I really dont think it will be Kyle Orton's fault in any way. I expect him to have a decent game.

I wont go as far as some though. When it comes to this team, I dont buy any of the talk about "any given Sunday" and how "this team can make a run in the playoffs". To me, that is delusional. If they happen to win this Sunday night, that'll be the last "W" of the season. I think that is a safe predicition.

I can see Orton leading them to a win Sunday. I believe he's fully capable of doing so.

That said I don't believe it will actually happen.

I keep hearing people in the media now saying we will win. Not sure why everyone is changing their stance because of our starting QB and LB being out.

How anybody could expect Dallas to win is completely beyond me.

This is an OK stance if you don't lose your mind if the Cowboys in fact lose. I don't understand those who predict a loss for the 7 days leading up to a game, then whine like jilted lovers when their prediction comes true.

Yeah, you're just in denial. The same denial a lot of fans are in. Just take the emotions out of it when you see that we have a .500 team and you will be fine. This is the 3rd year IN A ROW we are going to end up 8-8. Medocrity at its finest.

I don't expect it at all but stranger things have happened. That minny vs philly game is still in the back of my mind. We have a chance to win, a slim one.

Even though I don't have much of confidence in Orton I will root for Cowboys to win as I do every time Cowboys play.

It's up to the defense.
I'm not really worried too much about the offense. With the upgraded line, better run game, better pass protection, and deeper receiving group, that side of the ball is in way better shape now than it was at this time last year. Orton is a fairly solid player, so he should (hopefully) be ok.
It's that defense............

There's a chance, of course, but having hope and predicting a win are far from the same thing....especially with this team lol

No team has ever lost the last game of the season to go.500 three straight times.

Im the exact same way brother.
If former NFL players can sue the league for concussion syndrome I wonder if we can sue Jerry for the Schizophrenia that I have developed from being a long time Cowboys fan.
