My Class

The Cowboys trade all their original picks for others and then those picks for their original picks.

1(18) Sylvester Williams DT North Carolina
Overaged but underrated. Just now starting to get the hype he deserves. Plug and play DT.

2(47) Larry Warford G Kentucky
Would be a real nice value choice in the 2nd round for the Cowboys. 1st round talent.

3(80) Aaron Dobson WR Marshall
Gives the Cowboys alegitimate backup outside to Dez and Miles. Super sleeper.

4(114) Johnathan Franklin RB UCLA
Complete multi-purpose back capable of carrying the load. Should go higher but RBs tend to slide.

5(151) J.C. Tretter T Cornell
A move to C is in order. Could pay big dividends down the road.

6(185) Jordan Mills T Louisiana Tech
Intriguing developmental RT who may be best fit for a zone blocking scheme.

Impossible to fill all the holes with only 6 picks, so I didn't even attempt to. I'm simply going with a realistic scenario of what may be there at those spots in the draft. Of course when the draft starts and we see who is really available when we pick, this goes out the window.

I will be disappointed if we look back on this draft in three years and not see at least 2 quality linemen. It's the strength of this class and we are welfare needy. It should break all ties on our value board.

I'm pretty convinced there will be an early run of OL. Maybe all three Ts and both Gs off the board in the top 10-12. I'm equally convinced Sylvester Williams is destined for Dallas. Just a gut feeling. If I'm right it'll be a first.

I'm telling you right now, if the Cowboys draft Kenny Vaccaro at 18 or earlier, I will hate, Hate, HATE the pick. This is worst case scenario for me. Like packaging 1st and 2nd round picks last year for a cornerback was a nightmare.

I know a lot of you folks will be watching NFLN. I'll have ESPN on at all times. It's all Mel, all the time.

The single best sports event on the planet, with the exception of that rare time you get to see your team win a championship. I will be in my glory the next three days. When the Cowboys are actually on the clock, I'll make note of the player I would take at that spot and post those picks after the draft. That's your real mock draft. The team is actually on the clock making a pick and you can actually see who is available.

Some are saying Lane Johnson has the most upside then any other player in the draft. Why do you have him at 15?

I think we are going to see quite a few trades and then the people who trade back picking a QB to justify not picking them in top 10. I still believe we may see a Guard fall but I guess we shall see tomorrow.

Vaccaro, I would be happy with other safeties over him, I won't dislike the pick, but I like Thomas and Swearinger over him at this point.

But I am a Longhorn and Cowboy, so I will root for him to succeed and I think Kiffin's defense can make an average safety look pretty good.

First, the amount of work that goes into a top 50 that isnt just stolen from an "expert" is a lot more than people realize, so kudos. But i do Think you're overreating warmack and warford big time, but to each their own.

I do think this draft is strong in the trenches, but I also think you let the cowboys needs influence your rankings

Because I think he's still raw. Not much of a run blocker. I think he's a little over hyped, to be honest....and I'm a Sooners fan.

Fluker would be a better fit in Dallas.

Well, not for nothing, but McShay was on the radio today talking about Warmack and Cooper being at least in the top 5 overall as pure football players this year. Maybe even top 3.

I really think you should draft into the strength of the year's draft class. That seems to be Oline, Dline and Safety. Nice set up for the Cowboys this year. I could see them breaking on WR as well. Not sure if I trust Austin to make it through a season.

It'll be interesting to see the reaction if someone highly rated at another position drops though.

You should try it. I guarantee you it will look nothing like any mock you've done so far. One thing I know for sure, there will be a lot of surprises in this draft. Guys sliding, players getting picked way before you thought. It happens every year.

How much time did you spend watching each individual player on tape to compile said list?

good job RS, i like your top 50, but there is no way i could put Warmack #1. I actually like Cooper better for our team. the rest is pretty darn good.

You called it early, I remember.

It really is! I'll be in a trance or something. Only the Le Mans 24 Hours comes close. But that's just me. :)

Risen, you're dead on about Vaccaro.

I rather stay away from Sly though because of the age thing. However, he is underrated and highly talented.

To take a safety in the first round he has to be one that causes TURNOVERS. Vaccaro has not.

Well Risen, my gut has been telling me Vaccaro is gonna be the guy if they stand pat. I completely agree about two starting lineman.

Pretty good though I doubt Franklin lasts until 4th. Stranger things have happened but I don't see him going past 3rd...may be gone in 2nd. Here's hoping though.

nice draft RS, i agree with oyu wholeheartedly on building the trenches

i also have loved sly williams for a while and have been told he would be a reach at 18... i wouldl ove to have him at 18 (if cooper/warmack/richardson are gone)

do not want vaccaro at 18

disagree with you a little on Teo
i think he is way over-hyped and hope to god the giants take him at 19
