My Class
The Cowboys trade their 1st round pick, 16th overall, to San Francisco for the 49ers' 1st round pick, 30th overall, their 3rd round pick, 77th overall and a 2015 4th round pick.
1(30) Demarcus Lawrence DE Boise St.
A late riser and one of the better edge rushers in the entire class. Can be spoon fed in a rotation at WDE until he's ready for full duty.
2(47) Dominique Easley DT Florida
Color me a sucker. Another injury prone 2nd round pick but just. can. not. resist. if he's still there at this point.
3(77) Ego Ferguson DT LSU
Underrated. If he ever puts it all together you have yourself a beast inside.
3(78) Donte Moncrief WR Mississippi
If he makes it down this far he's a steal. Size and vertical stretch. Gives the Cowboys quite a dynamic trio of receivers.
4(119) Jerick McKinnon RB Georgia Southern
Super sleeper. Former QB with one year at the position. Short, compact, well rounded runner with major upside.
5(158) Zach Moore DE Concordia-St. Paul
Could be a factor in a situational pass rush role early on. Small school gem.
7(229) Khyri Thornton DT Mississippi
Experienced quick twitch gap penetrator who has battled inconsistency over his career.
7(231) Zach Fulton G Tennessee
Needs a year in an NFL S&C program and you may have something.
7(238) Boseko Lokombo OLB Oregon
Run and chase backer with the athleticism to excel in coverage. Raw.
7(248) Marquis Spruill OLB Syracuse
Highly productive 4 year starter. Will make his way on special teams.
7(251) Jemea Thomas DB Georgia Tech
Diminutive but experienced at safety and cornerback. Will be tough to cut.
7(254) Terrence Fede DE Marist
30.5 sacks over his college career warrants a look.

If we trade up, I will hate it. Be patient. Let the process sort itself out and draft value, with the defensive line breaking all ties. There is no magical elixir in the form of one player that's going to change this team. Don't shorten your class packaging picks in a trade up. It's just not smart. We need more at bats with the guy batting clean up in our lineup.
Someone recently posted a mock with a bunch of the same players I've mocked. I did not copy yours. Mine was done weeks ago and only updated once Jernigan had his issue with the combine drug test. We simply agree on a lot of these players.
Will the Cowboys reach on defensive linemen? That's the story of the draft for me. Others seem to be paying attention to Manziel. I'd be shocked if that happened. Even if he fell to 16.
All Mel. All the time. Do you think he wears boxers or briefs?
It's the greatest sporting event on the planet. Enjoy, boys. My head will be spinning as I'm checking off value boards, updating selections, browsing the various evaluations the analysts have on the players the Cowboys have picked and keeping an eye on the best available.
I'll be crossing my fingers this draft is more 2005 and not so much 2012. I'd say 2009 but this is a family board.
Will McClay. Don't let me down. And try to lean over so we can see you in the war room cam once in awhile.
Rod Marinelli.
