Also if Thomas was chasing Garrett down the field to ask him to play for Dallas, you have to think he would be unhappy about coming back to Seattle in 2018. And that was before Kris Richard came to Dallas, if this goes all the way into training camp next year you have to think Earl Thomas would be even more unhappy about being a Seahawk. Its something Seattle would have to consider in the locker room.
It's something that I have to feel that they've
already considered. I think that all of the talk coming out of Seattle on this situation is just that - talk.
I'm watching for actions, not words.
Thomas has been campaigning for his new contract for over a year, nothing's happened.
Seattle has turned over their entire coaching staff, save for Carroll.
They've shipped out several highly-paid parts of their defense already, with several more likely in the way out.
They can say whatever they want, but watching what they do tells me all I need to know.
They have no intention of paying Thomas any extension and don't want to pay him $8.5 million this year of they can avoid it.
They're simply talking a good game and angling for the best draft compensation they can get for him. Draft compensation that they desperately need this year. And it's why everyone already expects them to trade down in round one this year. Simply not enough draft ammo for their obvious rebuild.
Keep your powder dry boys. Let them call you.
