I would rather see us take a OLB in the first round and the kid from Pitt-- Spencer in round 2.
Peterman is a long shot IMO to beat out Kozier at LG. If he doesn't, and depending on who we draft, he could be on the bubble to make the roster because he only can play LG. In the end you want that 18th pick to be an impact guy. Wimbley, Lawson and yes Justice could all be impact players for us as rookies. I see Kozier as being an adequate starter, nothing more. But I could say the same for Fabini. Either guy could be unseated by a talented rookie. But it would need to be the kind of talent Justice has for BP to even think about starting a rookie OT again this year.
Speed is coveted in the NFL- always has been and always will be. Sometimes to a fault I'll agree. You tend to ignore some faults (Lawson-weight, Cromartie experience) if the speed is there. That's why all these Wimbley-Lawson discussions are probably going to end up being wasted band width because they'll both be gone before 18.
If we end up trading down a few spots and draft Carpenter- which if I open my crystal ball I see as a good possibility- I like Joseph and Spencer in round 2.
