I wish we had managment and coaches that would do the following, am I out of line?

Post the following team expectations

  1. We love the game of football
  2. We are here to win Super Bowls, while we may take pride in smaller accomplishments, this will always be our ultimate goal.
  3. We hate losing more than we love winning
  4. We are a team, will play as a team and no part will ever be greater than the whole.
  5. We practice & study with 100% attention to detail and intensity because we know we will ultimately play like we practice
  6. Failure is not an option
  7. Penalties are not acceptable
  8. Time required by management for practice, study and fitness training is not enough for a player who wants to be great and see his team be the best it can be. Therefore, time will be spent on the players own initiative to understand his assignment, rules of the game and intricacies of the game & his position cold. If you are on this team, we have determined that you are this type of player.
  9. We do not waste time & energy to celebrate in the middle of the battle but only when the battle is won.
  10. Despite the goals stated above, we understand that perfection is not an option, but we also understand that if we don’t aim for the stars we’ll never hit the moon.
You are now a grown man and a paid professional, we will not yell, scream, disparage you or attack your character. Rather, we will do everything in our power to equip you to attain the stated goals above. If the list above doesn’t represent your #3 priority in life (behind God and family), then turn in your resignation papers immediately and we work to relocate or release you.

Build the team around Witten, Ware, Barber, Z Thomas, Keith Davis & Romo, start cutting bait with everyone else who doesn't work as hard and hates to lose like these guys.

If you cant cut them because of salary cap implications, don't let them be rewarded by being released, instead bench their *** until they start working hard in practice, voluntarily work overtime without being asked and camp out in the film room on their own initiative. If they begin to do the above, then consider moving them up to 3rd string on a trial basis. If they quit talking smack, celebrating in the 1st quarter after a routine play, then consider letting them play more. Don’t make decisions on who has the most physical talent but who has the best work ethic, heart, attention to detail, toughness & emotion.

The average career of an NFL player is very short, get players who recognize this and will devote all their time to winning. They can rest and play in the off season and when their careers are over. Ask players if they would prefer to celebrate a few great plays and wins that no one will remember but never miss a meaningless party or sacrifice 6 months a year in order to win a Super Bowl that no one can ever take away that will give them joyous memories for life (not to mention endless income opportunities).

Bring back the fear of losing their job to all players, constantly churn the roster and keep everyone on their toes.

No yelling, screaming or cussing is required with the above plan. Just be the silent assassin and cut/bench where applicable. They'll figure out what they need to do, be gone or riding the pine.

Imagine a practice when the first team offensive line comes out to get some work. As they start to take the field, coach puts out his hands and says: "not you Gurode and Flo, we're going with Proctor and Free and if they don't work out, we'll go find someone else until you guys earn your jobs back," As they stare in disbelief at their coach with their mouths hanging open, he just turns and yells, "who's next?” No warning, nothing...silent assassin strikes again.

Lastly, risk releasing players a year early rather than a year late. You avoid crippling your team with underperforming high paying contracts and you get to keep churning your roster in the process.

Don't sweat the wins and losses; eventually you'll build a TEAM that will reap what they sow

this is too funny, you would do that to one of the best centers in the league, and build around a scrub like Keith Davis, and leave off the hardest worker on the team T.O.

This post is laughable

The idea is legit. The example isn't perfect, but the ideas are great.

Too bad Wade, Jerry, etc would never do anything like this. Imagine the player backlash if a team did this? It would be hilarious. Total meltdown. It would take a few years to get this going.

some of these players dont care if they win a superbowl or not, all they care about is their money and being seen on national tv for making a big play now an d then,

till another head coach comes in here like jimmy johnson that kicks rear ends, either sits players that do dumb things, or cuts or trades them, makes them accountable this team will go no where.

that all falls on jerry jones now, its up to him because good ole wade thinks everything will be rosey after romo, newman, felix jones and kosier gets back, but you still have the same problem, lack of discipline on your team, leaders that kick other players rear ends for goofing off, just like in one game, lincoln coleman missed a play, when he got back to the huddle, aikman grabbed him by the jersey and told him off,

till you see that going on this team and in practice and players going to good ole wade and telling him we want to hit in practice, we will not settle for anything less, we need to get ready now, not next game, if you dont do it good ole wade, we will go to jerry jones, till that happens this team is going no where.
