My dream scenario for Romo

The Cowboys trade Romo for a 1st round pick right after Dak wins the Super Bowl.

In week 16 of the regular season, the Cowboys have clinched home field advantage and this game is meaningless. They start Romo, he plays great and bounces up are taking a few hits. Some GM calls up Jerry and says he is sending over a 1st round pick this off-season for Romo. Jerry says er-uh and the GM says OK I'll throw in a 3rd also. Stephen grabs the phone from Jerry and says, done deal while he pours Jerry another Johnnie Blue.

Well will be lucky if we get a 4th rounder for him. Age and injury history makes him almost unwanted unless you could grab him almost free.

I know you were giving a dream scenario, so all I am saying is that is some dream

Dallas isn't going to beat New York/Green Bay, Seattle/Atlanta, and New England with Dak Prescott checking down to Beasley and Witten all of January.

Romo will probably be called on in one of those games.

The Eagles got a 1st for Sam Bradford. Sure he is younger, but he has been injured many times in his career and was never close to being as good as Romo.

Quality QBs don't become available very often, not even in free agency. Most other positions can be filled in free agency if a teams wants to pay out a big contract, but that option is rarely available with QBs.

All the practice updates should get us a high draft pick. If teams are as stupid as some of the Romo crowd, we'll get that 1st.

That likely will remain just a dream. Romo is not going to net a 1st. Period.

Now that we can definitely agree. I don't care who it is, I just don't think the kid is ready for playoffs yet.

My dream is he retires, gives back his signing bonus allowing us to regain millions in salary cap. We go out and sign a couple of stud defensive free agents and a WR, plus we can resign Leary. Tony replaces JJ as GM, he trades Sanchez to the Browns for a First. We use that pick to draft Miles Garrett.......damn, who woke me up!

Well, at least this is a helluva lot better than wishing Dak would suffer a concussion so Romo can play.

Unless Dak is injured Romo isn't playing.

That's fine, we can take that 1st round exit and be excited about that step forward we take next season. Then go 8-8.

Dallas is the only team taking a rookie to the dance, while our opponents trot out Eli Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, Russel Wilson, then Big Ben or Brady. Let's see how it works out.

The least skilled of the bunch has already taken us out twice. At this point Dallas has forced its hand, I agree you can not switch to Romo at this point without injury to Dak. The correct move was to switch as soon as he was healthy. Now we can just hope that Dak plays like no rookie has played before, at least without the help of an elite defense.

His signing bonus was 25M. If he retires, technically he would owe the Cowboys 1/2 of that because he is 1/2 way through the contract. Jerry won't force him to pay it back, but 12.5M is what he would owe if he retired against the wishes of the team.

Need at least 2 AFC teams to see him as a final piece. Denver and Houston are early possibilities.

Why is it that everybody thinks that "ALL" the other playoff teams will raise their level of play and the Cowboys will just remain static? All this dink, dunk and check down nonsense.
This kid has lead This team to a 12-2 record. I know we lost twice to the NYG, but damn, did anyone really watch the WHOLE games. We were not dominated and the whole team
made mistakes. It really must be maddening to have this extrordinary season led by two rookies and not be able to enjoy it because your favorite PLAYER can't get on the field.

Dude... my mindset was...

- we beat the Stealers in xxx 5-4 us

- put us up by one over alll except 49ers even
Although we gave Steve young a trophy. Hope he still sends Jerry xmas cards. SB 29 was ours.
Anyway...

- we need to add... fudging Giants are over a way from 5-5 even with us.... HOW THE HECK DID THAT HAPPEN? Seemed like yesterday they were stuck on 2 and got snuffed out by Ravens trying to get #3

- If Eli gets 3.... I'll move out of the country with all the peop,e that just moved out lmao

The savings is only 5 million on the cap this isn't what I want to happen but what I predict will happen, Jerry will keep Tony.
