My feeling about the draft

I think we are the type of organization that keep our cards close to chest. My gut feeling, according to free agency and everything else that's been played out, we'll go quarterback at four. I think we are bluffing so nobody trades ahead of us and grabs our guy. I think the Cowboys go Goff at four. I remember a few years ago, we didn't meet or show any interest in Claiborne, and then we traded up and snatched him. I remember after that draft he said that he didnt have any real talks w Cowboy officials and was completely shocked, as well.

I hope you are right and wrong...right about taking a QB, wrong about which one...I am hoping for Wentz, but Goff will be fine too. No complaints on either one.
But if not QB, the Elliot at RB.

I'm glad you are able to fall back on your version of Jerry who has a long history bluffing and outright lying to the media, instead of the version every one else has who does exactly what he says he's going to do, especially when he stresses it multiple times.

I highly doubt we will waste a QB pick at #4 for a guy to sit behind Romo for 4 or 5 years. That makes no sense at all. Those that want a QB are basing it on Romo not staying healthy. There will be opportunities before the season to land a backup.

I wish there were the ability to post a poll on this forum.

I would be very curious to see who actually believes the 4-5 years, it is not a damn debate scenario.

My gut feeling is that Wentz will be gone and they do not like Goff as much as others do.

I am in the No QB at #4 crowd....... But everything this team has done points to EXACTLY thus happening. I also believe it's Goff not Wentz we Covert.......

I want Ramsey but just don't see it

Unless something is very secretive, I think you are right. They look to be far more interested in Lynch than Goff.

No there won't be opportunities to land a quality backup. These players don't hit the market and Romo isn't going to be playing for 4 or 5 years, I don't even believe he is under contract for that long and realistically, as far as the cap is concerned, he has two years left until we move on or redo his deal.

If the team was not interested in a QB. Jason Garrett, Jerry Jones, Stephen Jones and Will McClay all wouldn't be at a private workout with a first round QB prospect (Lynch). That tells me all I need to know about this teams interest in a QB, more then any planned media statements from Jerry Jones.

How can you "highly doubt" that they are interested in a QB at 4 when they've held private workouts with each of the top QBs?

Crazy thing is, they may have to take Lynch at 4 if they really covet him. I can count 7 out of the next 10 teams that pick after us that MAY consider a QB, especially if they covet one. Now is it possible Lynch could fall to later in the first or even the second? Sure...QBs slip every year but do you really want to risk passing on one or trade down a few slots just to watch the Dolphins or 49ers get our guy?

We have no passrushers...

I am not totally opposed to the idea of drafting a QB at 4, if it's Wentz. However, I think we have bigger needs, by far.

I'd be shocked if it were more than 10% believes that 4-5 years mumbo jumbo.

Nobody...including Jerry....thinks Romo has 4-5 more years as a starter. 2 at max as a high caliber starter and 1 as a Peyton Manning swan song season at best...

Forget 4-5 years , the over under for Romo is more like four games or less.I mean the man has so many injuries and bad back all this talk of him being the QB for the next few years in Cowboy talk means the new guy plays after week two or so.Romo is done, he may play sporadically but medically he is done .NFL has figured out if they just hit him every play eventually something breaks.

He was quietly taking pain killing shot the week he got hurt last year for his back, seriously he looked like Grandpa before they slammed him into the turf.We take whichever QB is left at four. Not convinced we won't get Wentz.I think Cleveland passes here with RGIII

We have a very good emerging pass rusher in Lawrence but yes I understand what you are saying, but is there a true pass rusher worthy of the 4th pick? Bosa may be good but all reports are that 8 sacks and a strong run defender may be his ceiling. On the other hand...do we really have a bigger need than a future QB? Or even a backup QB for that matter considering that is the main reason we are picking at 4 now.

I want this team to be good next year but I also don't want to revert back to the 5-11 seasons. It can take teams years and years to find a QB, if we didn't lock out with Romo...we may still be looking.

Would any of you be upset if we take Lynch if Goff is still on the board? I have a feeling the front office believes Cleveland will take Wentz, and they prefer Lynch over Goff.

Back up plan might be, how far down can we trade and still get Lynch.
