Pretty big risk for the Skins to take Williams at 12 with no QB and hope Kizer slides to 17.

Arizona could take Kizer at 13.

I think Cousins goes to the Skins, they are stuck in a hard place after giving him the franchise tag last year. I am sure they are hoping to get a hometown discount but my understanding is that boat has left the dock. Him and Grappolo are going to set new highs for QB's this year, just glad it will be one of the NFC east's team cap space taking the hit. Dak will gather more than Cousins when his third year has passed after 2018 season if he stays the course.
Cousins and Grappolo are not setting highs in the qb market. That's funny.

Yeah but the real question is why doesnt the Commanders want to commit to him. The whole thing is weird to me. There arent 32 teams with a good starting QB today, and there wont be a year from now either.
Cousins was decent but he was bailed out by Jackson and Garcon alot. Theyre FAs

NY has been trying to get rid of Richardson. Franchise QB for a guy they been trying to get rid of. They saw nobody was going to give them a RD1 for him. Think ur overestimating Richardsons value

This. They don't want him and risk losing him for nothing.

Tim Williams could be a beast, but Dallas just can't chance a guy with off the field issues. Not sure they can afford to trust Ryan Anderson either. I watched Bama 4 or 5 times and both guys bring a lot to the table. Those off the field concerns might push both well down into the 2nd.

I've not read anything that indicates McKinley has short arms.

I think we might be missing the boat as to where Dallas will go in the 1st. Ideally, we'd get a speedy edge guy since that's our biggest need, but reality is there might be better prospects at other positions when 28 rolls around. Charlton will probably be a solid player who'll help the D, but I don't know that he will represent the best bang for the buck.

I think it's more likely we don't draft DE in the 1st than we do draft one. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if it were CB, TE, or a WR like Ross.

There will be no sure thing at 28. Gotta trust your scouts here.

Cousins and Grappolo are not setting highs in the qb market. That's funny.
It was a no-brainer for the Washington Commanders not to meet Cousins' contract demands last offseason and let him play the 2016 season on his $20 million non-exclusive franchise tag. The Commanders had reservations about paying Cousins as an above-average starter, given his limited track record. Washington's reported best offer was $16 million per year with $24 million in guarantees. Although it wouldn't have been accepted, the Commanders weren't willing to raise their offer to match the four-year, $72 million deal that Osweiler received in FA from the Texans . Osweiler got $37 million fully guaranteed in the contract and they are sick about that contract after the performance he put up in 2016 IMO.
It is no secret that the Skins will franchise Cousins a second time if a long-term deal can't be reached before the beginning of March. Cousins would make $24 million next season, which is 20 percent more than this year's tag. The 2017 tag would likely be the exclusive version, because the cost is expected to be practically the same as the non-exclusive one. The exclusive tag would stop Cousins from soliciting offer sheets from other desperate for QB teams.
The result of a second franchise tag is increased financial expectations. When a QB is franchised, an agent normally uses the tag amount as a baseline or guide for a long-term deal. This means that Cousins' agent wouldn't consider anything less than $24 million per year for Cousins. Taruk_Makato you are probably wondering what a third franchise tag would cost, 34.5 million is what the media is touting when I google(see New Orleans Drew Brees).http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/a...s-can-get-paid-and-still-help-out-the-saints/
Deciding Cousins' demands are so excessive that the Skins let him test the open market would be a perfect storm for Mike McCartney, Cousins agent. It's in Cousins' favor that there are more teams than adequate quarterbacks in the NFL(Big Ben and Carson Palmer contemplating retiring) and the 2017 quarterback draft class is worse than last year IMO. You are right it is very funny, especially if you are in the NFC east where the cowboys just landed a franchise QB in the 4th rd making about $700k average per year. We get a minimum of two more years of cheap labor at QB and will then break the bank for Dak's new contract if he maintains his level of play.
The Cousins final number will taste similar to the Joe Flacco(average QB IMO) contract deal after he won the superbowl if I had to guess.
Taruk_Makato still think Jimmy G will not command more than Brock Osweiler did in 2016?

theyre talkiing franchise and working out a trade. not hard at all.
If they franchise him ($24M) a team won't trade for him. Especially for a first. So yeah, pretty hard for that to happen but I guess people can dream when doing mocks.
