You have Cam Newton going way too low.

Dareus = yuck.

Dont think KC takes a WR w/ since Bowe is so studly

Am I missing something w/ Baltimore? Why would the take a tackle? They need a DB.

Good mock though overall

Yeah, Newton is going to blow the combine up and his hype will already be at critical mass if Auburn beats Oregon.

And I agree on Dareus.

I think Jared Gaither will be walking after this year and he's had back problems anyway and they'll need someone to put on the other side of Oher

You see that BS yesterday where Auburn attended a Lakers game and Cam sat down at courtside while the rest of his teammates were up in the nosebleeds?

What a team player..

I was watching the game as well. Although i could be wrong i saw him up with his teammates and every time time the camera was on him he was on his phone texting. I know they did bring him down court side to do an interview so maybe he stayed down there.

Yea, word was that he stayed down there i think because the announcers were even commenting on it.

He wont get by Buffalo

Personally I would rather have Prince there if available or trade down and acquire picks. I want a plug in starter at a need with the first pick. A DB or OT. I think DL with the first is more of a luxury.

But pretty good for a first mock.

Carolina will not take a QB now that Luck is staying. I see them going either with Bowers or trading down.

The masses in Carolina are already screaming for the hometown product and majority where even before Luck announced he was staying in school.

It's a PR move in a effort to find the next Julius Peppers.

I could very well see Carolina going this way.

I'm too lazy to try and found out, but how successful as teams with trading out of that #1 spot?

I mean I think the only reason anyone would trade up is to get a franchise QB, and since Luck is out, I don't see how Carolina could possibly move that pick.

Nobody is going to trade up for #1 since Luck was the only person who should've been selected in that spot. Carolina is going to have to reach for someone

First, I agree with everyone saying Carolina goes for DaQuan Bowers.

Second, I couldn't disagree more that Cam Newton is a lock to go before Minnesota. Even if you completely overlook the scandal he was involved in, he's still a QB with only 13 career starts, who ran an "option offense."

People say Tim Tebow couldn't read a defense, well Cam Newton comes from the same type of system. His got a couple of things working for him, like his size and speed and overall arm strength, but if he were running a pro-style offense, I'd be very suprised if his accuracy was above 60%.

What it will come down to are his interviews. If he comes across as a kid who is willing to put in the work and completely over-haul his game, then he has a shot at being the top QB drafted (I still think it will be Mallet or Gabbert), but if his interviews are averege, he could easily drop to Minnesota

I live in NE Ohio, so I know the Browns are gonna love you, even though they need a big stud receiver bad. However, there is no way he is still there at #6.

Sorry, but I hate the Dareus pick. Dude plays just when he wants to. He disappears for far too long, especially in big games...excluding the Michigan St. game, where they were just over-matched everywhere.

No way I pass on Amukamara. Good draft overall, though. I especially like these matches:

  • Miami - Ingram
  • San Diego - Miller
  • New Orleans - Heyward

I agree with your second point. Tebow was much more heralded, more productive, and more experienced. Like Tebow, Newton is an athletic phenom, but do not see a team taking a chance on him in the top 10. Tebow was a bottom of the first pick, Newton may be picked higher (bigger arm) but not much higher.

And I hope Dallas stays away from Dareus. Top 10 picks are for playmakers. Dareus is inconsistent as heck, and he has not had that break out season everyone keeps waiting for. He reminds me too much of Marcus Spears.

So Green, Quinn, and Bowers are all fairly close by.

BTW, it's never a good idea to draft based on geography...but in this lucky case the talent actually is nearby.

With Luck out of the picture, no team will want to go to #1 until a new CBA is in place and (presumably) a rookie scale enacted.

This draft is the biggest crapshoot I can recall in many years - it's going to a fun four months.
