Tony called. He said a very bad word followed by "YOU!"

Tony Romo to St. Louis for Sam Bradford
+ exchange of 2014 #1 selections.

Dallas would get a competent QB and can draft either Manziel, Bortles or Bridgewater
St. Louis gets an immediate upgrade at QB and becomes an instant NFC W contender, and still gets a chance to select a very good player at #16.

Similar cap hits (I believe Bradford's is 17.6, Romo's 13.5 + 5mil roster bonus in 2014)

would you pull the trigger on this deal?

Mom is that you!!! sounds like something my mom would purpose.

At first, I thought it was nearly impossible, but, maybe not. Trading Romo would result in a $7M cap hit. Adding Bradford's salary to the cap would add another $14M. That is $21M plus another 1st rd QB salary to add to the cap and, by the way, we are already $17M over the cap.

We'd have to basically restructure everyone we could and designate Ware and Austin June 1st cuts. We'd also have to restructure all of Bradford's $14M base salary. Yeah, I guess it is possible. I'd never consider it. Not worth it to me. Too much risk.

I also doubt the Rams would even consider it. Probably just laugh at the offer.

Don't like that trade if I'm St. Louis. They are one of youngest (if not the youngest) teams in the league, and are looking to continue that trend. It would make no sense for them to go out and pick up an old guy at the most important position in sports.

And I didn't realize that Romo's accelerated cap hit would be that pricey. Never mind lol

Actually it might only be a 28m hit. Amazingly enough, that would be do-able with a lot of restructures and a few cuts.

Are you familiar with the protocol of NFL trades? When has anything along the lines of this trade happened? Well, let's say never, because it's true. I highly doubt the precedent will be set now
