As usual on this subject you've got it all wrong. You win games consistently by running the ball effectively and stopping the other team from running the ball effectively.
No. If you take the extreme of either side then you're 100% wrong. You must run effectively. You must pressure the QB ie pressures, hits, and sacks. You must defend the pass well enough. You must pass better than they defend and/or defend better than they pass.
If you look at stats then running doesn't correlate well with winning. That's where the running effectively comes in. And that means several things that have been discussed ad infinitum.
