My Meaningless Thoughts on the Game...

Because he threw a pick in that one play.

He made that bad throw. My point was, that he had to play catch up the whole time and due to that he changed his approach to the game. He took some chances he eventually would have not taken, if we were playing with the lead.

thing that bothers me about Ellis' sack/forced fumble; if the ball is still in Eli's hand why does it matter if his hand is moving forward? Why should intent to throw the ball change the outcome of what actually happened--he had possession of the ball and lost possession of the ball when Ellis hit him.

i guess i don't understand the rule

There is no rule. That was a bad call, no ifs ands or buts.

I'm looking at the replay played over and over again, and it is, without a doubt, a fumble. I'm tired of the excuses generated by the NFL with respect to the refs. This is the second time I've seen obvious rulings be made incorrectly. And it's inexcusable when the ref has two minutes to look at the play in slow motion, and still make the WRONG call.

This is why people start having doubts about the game's integrity. It's not because people want to. It's because things are so obvious to the educated fan, yet the calls are still incorrect.

Inexplicably, when we had the momentum, and we were down by 11, we abandoned the run with over eleven minutes left. We relied on an inexperienced QB who played pretty well, without ever relying on a running game. That was bad coaching.

I'd agree if Julius and MB3 been gashing the defense, but we were down 11 with 10 minutes left and hadn't really run the ball much past the line of scrimmage all night.

Because he threw that first pick. He was dreadful, make no mistake about that. If he doesn't throw that first, dreadful, stupid, idiotic pick, that approach doesn't need to be taken.

But I never thought this team was going to win this game-- I really didn't. I thought the Giants could move down the field at will and score at any point.

5 points down? It could have been 500 in my book.

I thought the first pick was a combination of a great play by Strahan and a ball that Romo shouldn't have thrown. Was it the worst decision ever? No. Was it worse than Bledsoe's pick? No.

Still, the defense could've held the Giants to a FG and didn't.

To me the defense didn't look capable of stopping the Giants at any point.

He tried to rocket the ball through Strahan to a blanketed Witten.

It might not have been the worst throw ever, certainly not as bad as Bledsoe's half ender, but it was damn bad.

How 'bout that quick whistle on the 4th sack (Uminyora) on Bledsoe. Kornheiser/Theisman saying well b/c they know Bledsoe, etc...come on that's crap. If that was Vick or Reothlisberger they don't blow the whistle. He was standing, looking forward...how do you blow the whistle?

I cannot remember the last time I've seen a QB get called for in the grasp when his knee was nowhere near to the ground and he completed a pass. Used to happen quite a bit back in the 80's, but with today's QB's and the game wanting to keep plays alive, it's been a long, long time since that's happened.

Like I said. The G-Men outplayed Dallas in every facet of the game. I'm a Cowboys fan, but I'm also a fan of the NFL. And I'm really sick and tired of lousy officiating.

If Bledsoe does not make the bad throw before the half.....

Neither Qb played a great game. But if Romo can cut down the dumb throws, we might have something in him. The whole team seemed to be energized after Romo came in.
But cutting down on dumb mistakes is a big if. Some QB don't learn it in 14 years.

He didn't rocket the ball. He tried to throw over Strahan. My guess is that he didn't think a D-Lineman would make a play on that. That's what inexperienced QB's do.

All I can say to this is so what - no offense intended. Even if we're not running well, you still do it. And induced "perception of a threat" is better than no threat at all. Just putting an inexperienced QB back there and firing away is not the answer. It's not even the answer with a veteran QB with a team down by 11 with over 11 minutes left, with the momentum, and moving the football. On the drive where Romo threw that pick on the screen pass to JJ (where he was held), I said a few plays prior, we need to still run the ball. That was bad coaching.

I just felt something bad was going to happen, and it did.

I'd have to see it again, but it certainly looked like he was putting some stank on it. Either way, Witten was nowhere near open. Maybe that's not where he was going with it, though.

your right about what you said about Akin Ayodele and Ellis and yet Carp still cant get on the field. He must be reallly bad.

Sure we were 5 points down. And the fact is we weren't good enough to make up the difference. That's really what the bottom line is.

This isn't a playoff team.

The sugar has been put away until next season. ;)
It was ours for the taking and we handed it back to them. No excuse for not capitalzing on Ware's forced fumble. No excuse for not being able to block for either QB. No excuse for our QBs throwing 4 ignorant picks. Both guys have to shoulder some blame. No free rides.

I'm no longer worried about the playoffs. If they happen, they happen. I want to see improvement. That includes from the Golden Child at QB. He couldn't have asked for a better invitation to be the hero and he blew it. Period.

I'm not that down on Romo.

I thought the whole thing was handled rather badly and I thought coming out passing right off the bat wasn't the best choice either.

Ellis and Ware are the only two who really showed up to play last night....

How can you judge our golden child after two quarter of play? I think he has deserved a little more time.
