My meaningless thoughts on the game...

- I thought Romo looked pretty good out there. He only had a couple of bad decisions, was mostly accurate on this throws, had a few drops/catchable balls that weren't caught, and was great on third down. He seemed a little nervous about Taylor against Flozell, but otherwise played quite well IMO.

- How does a team in a city that has a lot of wealthy people residing it and has a billionaire owner still in such a crappy stadium that they share it with the baseball team? This has boggled my mind for years.

- Defense improved slightly, but they were saved by Trent Green putting in an awful performance, particularly the fumbled snap and the INT to Hamlin. Those were big and there's really no excuse for that.

- Oh my god! A blitz from Bradie up the gut where the O-Line doesn't recognize it! What a concept!

- Reeves boggles my mind as well as he'll get beat badly or look foolish and then rattle off a few good plays in a row.

- I didn't have a problem with him in the Giants game, but I'd like to see Ware get a little more active. The Fins really gameplanned for him like the Giants did, but eventually the team will need for him to make plays.

- Here's a guy we can't afford to lose to injury....Marion Barber.

- Sorry, I couldn't chart the game (thank you Charter Cable) and I didn't pay too close attention to Canty and Spears today. I did with Ratliff and I thought he played quite well.

- I'm not fully aboard yet, but Bradie James looks entirely better than last year.

- Run blocking wasn't much, of course Julius may be the Drew Bledsoe of running backs, but I thought Romo had ample protection.

- Give Flozell credit, he did have some penalties, but he practically had no problem with Taylor today. One thing I noticed is that when Romo is audibling and the playclock is running too far down, Flozell will false start.

- It's a win and a comfortable won on the road, but there's still some problems on defense I see. Next week is Chicago and if they can pull out a victory they'll be looking really good at 3-0. And the good thing about MNF is either the Eagles or Commanders lose, and if it's the Skins, Dallas has the lead in the NFC East.

I agree with pretty much everything. I was very critical of James, and I still am, but I think they are doing VERY well at not asking him to do things he can't do.

He was responsible for a first down when he was in Zone coverage, but for the most part, he isn't playing too far from the LOS, which is a good thing.

That being said - regarding the Bradie blitz. Great heads up play, but that was more moron on the side of the LG than craftiness on Wade's defense. Still, he made the play.

He doesn't look back for the ball and he had a hard time recognizing certain routes and where he should position himself.

Other than the Booker touchdown (where I was shouting LOOK BACK), I feel like one of Reeves' assets is that he isn't afraid to turn his head.

I do agree on the recognition - he turns his hips too soon in soft coverage and it makes it too easy to run a hitch or quick move to him.

I was extremely frustrated that Fox didn't replay an iso on the Booker touchdown - Booker had a step or two on Reeves, but I couldn't figure out why. It wasn't a deep throw and Reeves isn't slow.

The deep ball on the D's right side, in the Hash area, seemed to be there consistently for the Phins'......

Is that the LB not getting a deep enough drop in a zone, or the safety being pulled by a deep route on the other side......

Was watching on Sopcast--pic not big enough to determine, but the Phins kept going back to that play, that area of our D

I don't remember any throws in that area.

Romo threw several bad balls to open receivers. His pocket presence and escapability were astounding.

Maybe I am a bit prejudiced because of the way he played at Purdue. If he is starting to look back I think that will be a huge improvement for him. I would love to see him be good enough to replace Henry down the line. He certainly has the speed for it. (Big Ten 60 meter dash winner his senior year)

Romo was under 50% today. We scored a lot of points, but that leaves points on the field too. He played good enough to win, but needs to pick it up against a good defense next week.

Yup.

He is Staubach-like in that regard. No doubt about it.

he had a few nice throws, but other than avoiding turnovers I thought he played pretty average...he made several bad reads and got lucky a couple balls werent picked...

alot of it definitely was terrible play by Green...I bet he missed at least 6 or 7 extremely easy ones where guys were wide open...we still cant get to the QB

- Reeves boggles my mind as well as he'll get beat badly or look foolish and then rattle off a few good plays in a row.

thats why he'd be better as the 3rd/4th CB...and IMO they need to tell him to quit giving cushion, because he plays better when he is up on he WR...

- I didn't have a problem with him in the Giants game, but I'd like to see Ware get a little more active. The Fins really gameplanned for him like the Giants did, but eventually the team will need for him to make plays.

just like in the Giants game, seems he was a half a step late on several sack opportunities...he was also held a couple times (as usual)

- Here's a guy we can't afford to lose to injury....Marion Barber.

yep

- Sorry, I couldn't chart the game (thank you Charter Cable) and I didn't pay too close attention to Canty and Spears today. I did with Ratliff and I thought he played quite well.

Ratliff would be better at DE, but he seemed to play ok for the most part at NT...Spears was better vs the run, Canty did very little until the game ending sack...Hatcher didnt do much either, and Bowen is a waste of time

- I'm not fully aboard yet, but Bradie James looks entirely better than last year.

right now James is the least of our worries...clearly playing alot better and plays faster than last yr

- Run blocking wasn't much, of course Julius may be the Drew Bledsoe of running backs, but I thought Romo had ample protection.

wasnt much? how about non existant? save barber's big run to ice it, this was a lousy run blocking performance...I continue to have huge doubts about Sporano as an OL coach

- Give Flozell credit, he did have some penalties, but he practically had no problem with Taylor today. One thing I noticed is that when Romo is audibling and the playclock is running too far down, Flozell will false start.

have no problem with how he is blocking, especially pass blocking

yep...very happy to be 2-0, but we really need Newman and Ellis, and Phillips needs to start working some magic with the pass rush...the OL play has to be better and they need to tighten up some coverages...they have to play better than today to win next Sunday night...we're 2-0 because we've faced two teams that clearly are not going to be in the playoffs, now we get a real test

I am very leery of the Commanders, I thought they would start 5-1 and I thought the loss would be to the eagles tomorrow. I am not so sure now.

I dont think we match up well with them and if they beat the eagles tomorrow night, which I think they will the east is going to be a tough race.

on the other side, how much fun would it be to have the cowboys-skins on the last day of the season playing for the division..

Romo had all day to throw back there. Penalties aside Oline is vastly improved.

They are better, but idk about vastly improved. The RG slot is much better. I thought they were decent in pass protection last year, as evidenced when a QB who knew where to move in the pocket started playing. Romo's pocket presence is supreme.
