I have been pimping CJ and after his 40 time at the combine you guys can see why so with the first pick in the 2008 draft the cowboys select

1a Chris Johnson ECU RB lightning fast good hand return kicks runs hard homerun threat every time he touches the ball is the ying to barber yang =)

This might come to a surprise since i've said time and time again theres no WR worth drafting in the first round and if we didn't draft one in the first round last year theres no way we get there one this year I wanted to say we would get this guy in the second round but after his 40 time that is almost impossible

1b WR Devin Thomas MSU 6'2 4.34 40 lets just call him MR. Big Play. Great size and speed athletic ability can return Kicks would be fantastic along side TO.

I know you guys are thinking CB we need a CB OMG this guy draft is ridic we never draft WR 1st round let alone 2 offensive player we haven't done that in over a decade.

2. Antoine Cason CB Arizona Good size at 6'0 190 decent speed he's durable played all of his games at the collegiate level he's a senior i think he's more polished than some of the other guys and he is strong and could jam receivers at the line with his 20 reps of 225

3. Tavares Jackson ILB Miami LB from the DA U. Injuries hurt his stock but his performance at the combine was strong he is a ball hawk what we need in the middle develop under Zach Thomas for a year and will be a savage for many years to come.

Now this is where it starts to get hard However i've been suggesting a DT so we can move Ratliff back to DE.

4. Dre Moore DT Maryland Strong explosive DT had 31 reps of the bench press ran a 4.88 40 time Will be good for him to train under Jason ferguson.

Man JJ didn't get his Arkansas RB Dmac no Felix no but wait theres Hillis

5. Patrick Hillis FB Arkansas i was against getting another FB but the versatility he brings is amazing. I like Anderson but he is an upgrade and we could do many things with him.

No combine invite no pro day has barely been talked about is basically unknown. The only reason i know about this guy is because of Cogan and i feel in love with this guy he brought up.

6. Brian Johnston DE Gardner Webb 6'5 278 4.78 40 speed. Gets after the ball carry is a play maker and will be nice. He's an All-American this kid can flat out ball and will be amazing pick up that came from now where for us

Last year we drafted 2 CB's this is a good as guess as anybodys who will go in the 7th i will pick a random person that could have the most upside

7. Mario Urrutia WR Louisville 6'6 4.64 40 thats all i know about him but a 6'6 WR with decent speed is a good t arget

I would LOVE this draft. I know a lot of people want Hardy from IU but I think Thomas from MSU is a better prospect. Sign me up for this draft.

I'd PUKE!
He was ranked as a 2nd round R.B. when everyone KNEW he'd run under 4.3, so just caus ehe actually ran under 4.3 does NOTHING to change the fact he was not a 1st round R.B., to move him up to #22 in round 1 based onhis 40 time when EVERYONE KNEW he's probably be the fastest guy at the combines ahead of time is not smart drafting IMO!

Not a bad pick, we need a W.R. for the future and he looks like he's got the whole package to be a #1 W.R., you're right, we do need a C.B., which is why pickign a2nd round RB. with the #22 pick when someone like DRC or Talib would still be available makes no sense to me!

2. Antoine Cason CB Arizona Good size at 6'0 190 decent speed he's durable played all of his games at the collegiate level he's a senior i think he's more polished than some of the other guys and he is strong and could jam receivers at the line with his 20 reps of 225

More of a ZONE GUY, I want a guy who's better at man to man which Cason is not, he's known for being a tampa cover 2 type C.B.!

AGAIN, I'd PUKE!
We have James and Burnett also, we don't need to use our 3rd rounder on an I.L.B. since I don't feel he'll beat out Burnett anyway.

4. Dre Moore DT Maryland Strong explosive DT had 31 reps of the bench press ran a 4.88 40 time Will be good for him to train under Jason ferguson.

LOVE THIS PICK, don't know if he's gonna last till the end of round 4, but if he does, I love the pick!

5. Patrick Hillis FB Arkansas i was against getting another FB but the versatility he brings is amazing. I like Anderson but he is an upgrade and we could do many things with him.

Jerry doesn't have to pick a guy from Arkansas, that's a big misconception, he's never picked a guy form Arkansas before round 5 ever since he's been the Cowboys owner.
For a 5th round pick, I like it, again, don't know if he'll last this long, but I don't mind the pick at all.

278 seems a little light to be a 3-4 D.E.
Besides, (assuming Spears is gone) we have RATLIFF/HATCHER/CANTY and then MOORE in round 4, we dont' need another D.E. if that's the case.

7. Mario Urrutia WR Louisville 6'6 4.64 40 thats all i know about him but a 6'6 WR with decent speed is a good t arget

I think he'll be more of a 4th or 5th round pick, I dont' see him going this late, but would LOVE IT if he did!
OVERALL, I think I'd be VERY UPSET with this draft overall.
When you were making fun of another guys mock draft and said you'd make your own, we were talkin about the WHOLE 1st round for every team that you said you'd make also, is that coming?
for the record, I'd PUKE if this was how our draft went!

I don't really like it... absolutely no reason to take a RB, regardless of how fast, with our 1st pick in the draft. Devin Thomas is not a 1st round WR either.

And you mean Tavares GOODEN, not Jackson.

I don't really like any of these picks except for Gooden, but I'm starting to doubt we'll take an ILB in this draft unless we're shipping Akin and/or Carp.

TheCount;1971123 said:

And/or Burnett!
We have way too many I.L.B.'s as it is, even IF we get rid of Ayodelle, so I just don't see the logic in picking an I.L.B. in this draft, especially with a 3rd round pick that could be used on someone who will actually see the field this year other then special teams.

What are you talking bout his was projecting late first early second with his peformance its enough to move him up in the draft and take the guy we want. Theres no guy at his height with better speed size hands what do this man have to do lol

DRC is going to be a top 15 pick i think Talib is going to go be4 we pick at 22 along with Mckelvin and Jenkins theres no point in pick any one else.

You must think where going to get a better ILB in a lower round BUrnett was shacky in coverage Carp sucks and theres thomas.

LOVE THIS PICK, don't know if he's gonna last till the end of round 4, but if he does, I love the pick!

yea i know what your saying he's another one of the tweeners .

For a 5th round pick, I like it, again, don't know if he'll last this long, but I don't mind the pick at all.

he's a utility back who all-round would be the best full back on our roster. He would be what Richie Anderson was for the jets but a better blocker.

I don't do mocks of every team why because i don't know or care or have any interest in any team other than the cowboys. That WR isn't projection 4th or 5th do your home work

yes i know this how ever considering hise size and speed and the fact that we pick so late we pull the trigger early to ensure us of the players we want and its not that far of a stretch.

I don't think you can really deny this kid his talent any more you might not like the pick but the facts remain he is a stud and letting him slip any where further than 22 is a gamble.

Yea /gooden oops. I don't see a future in Akin or Carp we brought in Thomas which is going to force Akin in to the back up role and then burnett is our nickle guy tavares could learn behind either zach or james and being a solid guy by his second year.

Also to clear things up my mock assumes that Mckelvin Jenkins DRC and TAlib is off the board b4 22. Even if Talib is on the board i don't see us drafting him at 22

I'd PUKE!

No one knows that DRC is a sure fire top 15 pick, hell, 4 weeks ago he was rated as a 3rd rounder now you're 100% positive he's gone by pick 15?

He's not projected to be a 7th either, and for someone to tell me that Dre moore's a D.T. only and I should do some research and how you don't know Cason is more of a cover 2 type C.B., YOU might wanna do some research yourself my friend, cause form the look of it, you don't know much!

I think 28 is a little early for Johnson, and Jackson has dropped some maybe could be had at #28, I do like adding Jackson to our offense though, other that that I really like Godfrey in round 2, Demps in round 3 is a bit of a reach.

Strengths:
Good athleticism...Decent size with long arms...Excellent instincts, anticipation and awareness...Playmaker with terrific hands and ball skills...Is quick and plays faster than he times...Very aggressive...Good technique and footwork...Does a solid job of supporting the run...A reliable tackler...Pretty tough...Smart, a hard worker and a leader...Very productive...Confident and has a short memory...Terrific bloodlines.

Weaknesses:
Does not have great timed speed and lacks a burst...Will have to get stronger...Is not overly physical...Struggles to recover when beat...Hips are not very fluid...Has trouble taking on / shedding blockers...Probably won't be an ideal fit for everyone.

Notes:
Father Wendell played at Oregon and for the Atlanta Falcons from 1984-1987, his brother Dione ran track at Washington St. and two of his cousins (Ken-yon Rambo and Avieon Cason) played in the NFL...Started the Cason Cares campaign to raise money for the American Cancer Society in honor of his late grandfather...Was also a member of the Wildcat track team...Prototypical zone corner...Also being looked at as a potential safety..Not quite the pro prospect that his college press clippings would lead you to believe...Very good player whose lack of top speed will hurt him on draft day...He's the type you hate to doubt due to those top-notch intangibles. I know we all love Chris Johnson but I think it's crazy to draft him in the first, especially with the idea that we've "got to pull the trigger early", if that's the case, you trade down, you don't take him early. Or you go to another position of greater need and get the next best guy in the next round.

and w/ the speed Demps showed today, to go along w/ his college production, he was INT machine, I don't think late 3rd is a reach at all, but opinions vary

Couis cause he ran so well at the combines, lnd't agree more, ESPECIALLY if the reason you use is cause he ran so fast at the combines, because everyone has known prior to the combine that he'd probably run under 4.3, so when he did, that's EXACTLY what was expected of him and everyone knew this ahead of time, and he was STILL not rated a 1st rounder by ANYONE that I ever heard of, so no reason to jump him up to the 1st round now because of his 40 time necause everyonek knew he'd run under 4.3 anyway, ESPECIALLY jump him up from a late 2nd as most had him projected before the combine to the #22 pick, that's just HORRIBLE value.

To all the guys who think CJ shouldn't be drafted in the 1st. Can you tell me when was the last time you saw a player that could be your backup RB, your starting KR, your starting PR, play WR in the slot and runs a official 4.24. Thats 1 guy playing 4 positions. This guy has great value.

I just don't wanna use a 3rd rounder on a safety!
We have Hamlin and we know Roy is up in the air, but in my mock I'd rather go with a guy like Terrell Thomas who can play both C.B. and safety so he could help out at both spots and be our future #3 C.B. or could take over at safety if need be, but to draft just a safety in round 3 when we don't have any immediate needs at safety is too early for my liking.

I disagree with you on and we don't play bump and run our CB play off the ball and he doesn't have to have the best top end speed

Um, from EVERY SINGLE SCOUTING REPORT I have EVER looked at????

Once again i don't see spears being in Dallas much longer there is something called the pratice squad. I've been longing up possible draft picks since novermeber when you start after our playoff loss?

Spears Hatcher and Canty are the only DE's you named Moore isn't even on the rooster and we don't even know if ratliff is switchin back yet thats just random specualtion and we don't know how ferguson will be when he comes back from his injury

Yes i don't know what other teams need nor do i care if i did i would be a fan of that team o wait im a dalals fan so ima give you a mock of dallas picks.
