Dallas right now picks 7th

Round 1
1. Titans Laremy Tunsil T Ole Miss
2. Chargers Miles Jack LB UCLA
3. Browns Joey Bosa OLB Ohio State
4. Ravens Jalen Ramsey S Florida State
5. Lions Vernon Hargreaves CB Florida
6. Niners Paxton Lynch QB Memphis
7. Dallas Trades with STL Dallas gets RD1 RD3 RD5 picks
7. Rams Jared Goff QB Cal
8. Jaguars Robert Nkemdiche DT Ole Miss
9. Saints Jaylen Smith LB ND
10. Bears Ronnie Staley T ND
11. Cowboys Ezekiel Elliot RB Ohio State
Dallas misses a RB who can create and keep a defense honest. Something they dont have now since they lost Murray. Elliot gives them that guy who can carry the load when the passing game has stalled. We saw last yr when Dallas needed a kick start they gave the ball to Murray and let the big men in front lead the way. Elliot allows Dallas to get that hammer back.

Round 2
Jeremy Cash S Duke
Guy is going to climb and I think if they want him they're probably going to have to take him here. He can play all over the field. And make plays where ever they put him. He loves to hit and blitz too. Would give the Cowboys that S combo that marinelli wants.Jones being the deep safety and Cash being the one to play the run but can go back and play that 2 deep zone.

Round 3
Desmond King CB Iowa
Makes plays on the ball. Not tall but puts himself in position to just make plays.

Round 3(STL)
Adolph Washington DT Ohio State
Certainly he's going to drop some after his arrest. But if the team interviews him and he checks out, Dallas has shown they will take a chance(Gregory). Would be a steal at this point.

Round 4
Braxton Miller WR Ohio State
Guy who you can just put all over the field and he'll make a play. Type of player Jerry usually drools over.

Round 5
Kevin Hogan QB Stanford
Smart QB who has need to develop, but he'd have time behind Romo.

Round 5(STL)
Taveze Calhoun CB Miss State
Physical CB who would make a nice dime CB. aggressive and actually likes to tackle.Could develop into a starter.

This is the first mock you have done that I don't hate and I will be honest, I absolutely love this one. This is hands down the best mock I have seen, while also being realistic. We get our feature back, a dynamic playmaking safety, an aggressive and physical corner, a WR/HBack with limitless potential and a very underrated QB who just wins. I love it. Keep up the good work.

The only thing that bothers me is, Miller will never be a pure WR and I am not sure I trust this stone-age offense and numb coaching staff to find dynamic ways to use him.

With Bosa,Hargreaves and Ramsey off the board this trade would be great.
especially with the haul of players you mocked to us.

While I'd love to see Cowboys take a QB early (as would many others) I could see a scenario like what you laid out above where a developmental QB isn't taken until later in the draft. Certainly some RB depth is needed and the secondary... well.

I think it's realistic also.

The fact is an early 1st QB may not either be available nor may be the best choice.

I get why some people think its a necessity. I just think getting a guy at that spot who can come in and contribute at a high level right away, is more wise than drafting a kid who you know is sitting for a couple years, possibly even if Romo gets injured depending on the backup situation. I also think that Kevin Hogan is tremendously overrated as a prospect. He can make all the throws. He is tough. He has great pocket presence. He has very deceptive athleticism. Most importantly, he has played in a pro style system.

Well that's it. You're going to have a number of people who automatically assume that a 1st round QB is going to be close to be Romo-ready and it's just not going to apply to most 1st round QB's.

And then you have the situation of having a 1st rounder have to sit for two years, which is going to only leave 3 years of contract-control left.

I am for adding talent around Romo for a Super Bowl run. A rookie QB holding a clip board does not accomplish that.

If Tunsil goes 1 (could happen) SD will draft Staley 2 as best available OL. Their line is a train wreck and you cant pass up franchise LTs. If Browns keep their HC, they will draft Lynch. Petine cant stand JFB,

They talked about the browns situation yesterday. Petine is most likely gone, front office thinks coaches arent couching these player properly. Manziel was the guy they picked. I can see them staying mum on him while he was in the headlines, but all of the sudden he shows that he has talent on the field and this report comes out. Petine is out.

Agreed. I think Petine is gone after the season.

I thought this from the start. It just looked like he was never on board with the QB from the get go.

And given the number of 1st round picks they've spent on QBs over the last decade I just can't see them pulling that trigger again this season.

No thanks on Hogan. The guy isn't anything more than a backup. I want a QB in the first 3 rounds (preferably in the 2nd or 3rd). Wentz is my guy.

Fantastic mock LM! Elliott will be a dynamite feature back. Cash and Des King are playmakers and hard nosed ballers too. Washington is very good as well. Nick Hayden wouldn't be a starter next season....Braxton Miller is a playmaker and this offense needs more of them.

Three Buckeyes in this draft...funny how it worked out that way. Or are you a Buckeyes fan LM?

The only players that I'd be ok taking over Lynch/Goff right now are Ramsey (assuming we like him as a FS and not a corner), Bosa, and Nkemdiche. I could maybe be talked into Treadwell as well.

I LOVE Wentz, especially as a guy who will slip a bit because he needs some time to develop.

In this scenario, if we trade down, i'm using the extra picks to trade back up into the first and taking him. I don't care if he's a 2nd round grade, that 5th year option makes a huge difference.
