I think jimmy johnson was the last to be able to moitvate players consistently with that method.
money has changed the game and even with nonguaranteed contracts players arent motivated as much by yelling at them and insinuating they are mentally defective.
its that type of motivation that goes on in the military and since the ending of compulsory service in the mid seventies its fallen out of disuse. Let be quite frank, why put up with tat crap if you dont have to.
Coughlin turns nice and he wins a superbowl. Dungy and Smith win with the same techniques and you can look all the way back to vermeil and see this success being nice gets. wade is of this same mold.
No we didnt lose down the stretch because Wade didnt scare the rosters enough. we lost because Romo's thumb was dinged, TO was hurt, our offensive line needs to be better coached and coordinated in the rungame, jacques reeves, kevin burnett and others cannot cover to save their lives and the fact that the NY Giants are a good football team.
Buck up campers, we still allmost won despite all that.
Good post-if anything, there's almost always a million questions when one's respective team loses. When you win, GREAT, but there's always a bundle of unanswered questions when you lose.
If anything-our 2 reg season wins against the Giants weren't exactly impressive. If Toomer had managed to get both feet in the endzone early in the game, the Giants go up 13-3 and the game would have gotten ugly from there. In the 2nd meeting, Chris Snee committed a bonehead hold on Roy on the potential game tieing TD late in the game-at that point, the Giants would have had the momentum.
Pt being that ultimately, the Giants were the better team in that 3rd meeting. Nuff said about this issue of "we had another meltdown", blah, blah, blah.
