My one take away from the press conference is changing the culture

Schottenheimer mentioned a few times that he wants to change the culture. That is one thing I think can make a world of difference around here. It won't be an easy thing to do but it one thing I did appreciate hearing that today from our new head coach.

My take is that a lot of people here went in to the press conference with their minds made up to support their own negative point of view no matter what he said.

Don't think he is hard *** enough. Seems like a nice guy that likes to connect people and praise them.

And boot-lickers gotta lick.

Winning changes culture... Losing makes everybody hate each other...

So Mr Personality didn’t have this affect on 14 other teams but now he’s changing the game for a storied franchise? Ok
Assistant coaches can’t change a culture…lol. Never. They do what they are told to do.

3 12 win seasons didn’t change ours. I think culture and hard work come first. Coaching and good players come second. Winning follows. But that’s just my opinion.

My point is he had a forum. If you are they outstanding/outgoing someone is going to take notice and want to keep you around. Yet he bounced yearly. So saying he had that ability here is strange to me. Seems he fooled Jerry but no one else career wise

This is why I'm not jumping ship. A head coach can have a major influence on culture just by being a relatable, respectable person. I don't like the hire all that much but he's at least been able to keep jobs at important positions in the NFL, not knocked down to lower tiers of the sport. There must be valid reasons. As someone who will probably never quit the Cowboys I'm curious about him.

Well good, at least someone that is officially part of the Cowboys structure acknowledged we have a culture problem. I’m grasping as anything to be positive about. So good, someone else besides us acknowledged it.

My question is, if Schotty can openly say in the press conference that he wants to change the culture then that must mean the culture is talked about inside the organization. So why hasn’t Jerry and Fat Neck done anything about it?

I am sure Jerry reminded him to not go off script and only say what they have predetermined he can say. All this talk about culture change will have Jerry slapping him down real quick. Jerry is the culture and no one is changing that.

Changing the culture inside the locker room is one thing and that will help. But that’s not enough , he needs to change the culture of the entire organization from the top down.
Has anybody said anything about his pay or is that some deep and dark secret. Nevermind. That's top secret .

Dont tell, show.

Alone from these twitter posts i feel no more need to watch that presser crap on Youtube.

I seriously lack that get up and go for this claptrap!

Have to start by spiking the Jones brew with a little strychnine....

Did I miss it? When did he fire Jerry and Stephen during the press conference?

he will not be able to change the culture. as long as Jerry and Stephen are in charge, this culture will not change.

LOL, does he realize who he is sitting between?

Anyone can say that. Does he have the stroke to keep Jerry out of the locker room? Can he shut down tourists be-bopping through the players' workouts? Can he get his lunch in the Star cafeteria without waiting for an hour like McCarthy did?

Answer those Brian, and then we'll see about "culture".
