My one take away from the press conference is changing the culture

I want smart play calling smart play and coaching first and foremost. I don't want silly penalties, missed assignments, bad route running, inaccurate passes, interceptions, too many coverage sacks, bad blocking, stupid play calls, not running the ball, power up front, a hard core defensive line, great coverage scheme, consistency, ice water in veins game play activity, and to play and coach with fearlessness. And most of all, we need top tier talent.

I would venture to say, that very statement "change culture" is said at 90% of these coach new hire press conferences.

If you are hiring a new coach then something went wrong and it is a easy thing to say.
Exactly.
Like at a beauty pageant and all the contestants ask for World Peace.

Not impressed. Met him briefly at the Star last year and he was arrogant and rude. I was laughing when he said he loved the fans and respected them. Clown show continues!!

LOL.

Well intentioned thought to have.

Until players stop talking to him and go right to Jerry.

Wade wanted to do it too. Jerry wouldnt let him fine players.

You want to change the culture in Dallas. Get rid of the helicopter landing pad on the practice field. To start.
The only way they can change the Culture is to sell the Team!

My take is that a lot of people here went in to the press conference with their minds made up to support their own negative point of view no matter what he said.
My take is some people will eat a turd sandwich no matter how bad it smells so long as it's silver and blue. Would you like a side of fries with that Mr. John James Rambo? This was the 3rd worst scoring offense in the entire league in 2024 and that smell coming from your sandwich was the OC for all of it. Changing his title to HC does nothing but make it a footlong.

My one takeaway is Jerry telling us he’s really , really, REALLY good at managing the salary cap.
Cause if I’ve learned anything when being around some of the top professionals in the Country over the years, it’s the fact that they have to tell you they’re really good at something or you wouldn’t have a clue.

This may come across as a shocker of a statement but it just may be possible that all 3 of the general managing, head coaching and quarterbacking suck for the Dallas Cowboys.

It's just the GM is the one who drafts the QB and hires the HC so he kinda sucks worse at his job than the other 2 suck at theirs.

How being great with people change culture?? I been around for a while and most of culture is changed by force or change of rule. Not tree hugging. I prefer the latter by the way,

too bad this guy controls the culture

They will be greatly improved at the running back position which should help them quite a bit.

How is Jerry good at anything as a GM. 2 players have more then half your cap. Great job,Jerry

Schottenheimer mentioned a few times that he wants to change the culture. That is one thing I think can make a world of difference around here. It won't be an easy thing to do but it one thing I did appreciate hearing that today from our new head coach.

Obviously seems like a great guy and must be one hell of a sales person. I wish him luck!

I'll also have a job waiting for him, VP of Sales for my company. He will definitely sell.

Schottenheirmer says he's going to "get the culture right." Well, we've seen the culture changed before, courtesy of Jimmy Johnson (The asthma field's over there!).
Reflecting back on his days, Jimmy said, "All the players looked to me and they understood I was going to cut them, keep them or fine them. Now they have to answer to Jerry Jones." If this is the culture Schottenheimer's aiming to change, I will believe it when I see it. Good luck, dude.

Has anybody said anything about his pay or is that some deep and dark secret. Nevermind. That's top secret .
Quite a big assumption on your part here. I’m not sure he’s getting paid to coach the team

Bless his heart. Stephen jones I hate with a passion. Talking about the drought with air quotes lmao. Like seriously dude is a chump,
