Yeah, defensive linemen are hard to develop. I would like for us to start drafting defensive tackles a little higher but I get it. Booker is more likely to be a good player then Nolen is.

It's high. Last season Philly was 1st. In 2023 KC was 2nd. In 2022 KC was 11th. In 21 the Rams were 17th. In 2020 TB was 6th.

However, it's not about rankings. It's about limiting what the other team can do on O. Shutting down at least parts of their O.

Cincy made a super bowl w/ a subpar team strictly due to the play of Ogunjobi and Reader. They completely shut down KC's O in the 2nd half of the AFC championship game. They had no business winning that game, and the DT play is what led them to it.

I don't think Diggs is going to be around long. Supposedly they arent happy with how he is rehabbing and even considered cutting. I wouldn't be suprised if they move him around the deadline if they can

Diggs will be here next season. That is all I am concerned about. Most Cowboys rumors have been proven to be false anyway. What about the stooges almost guaranteeing a trade or two on draft day.

I absolutely don't get the love for Mafah. IMO, Luepke is better. Mafah is a poor man's Troy Hambrick. Slow to the hole and, well, slow in general.

We have discussed this before. The Cowboys use the draft to make moves so this is at least a two year process. I think they are serious about defensive tackle and linebacker now. Marty ball is here in Dallas.

I told you before the draft process started that they consider Mingo a draft pick and won’t pick two receivers in the first 3 rounds because of it.

I told you before the draft process started that they consider Mingo a draft pick and won’t pick two receivers in the first 3 rounds because of it.

They are? What have they done to make you think they are serious about DT? Looks like the complete opposite to me. And I don't see a high level starting LB in the bunch. Just not seeing what you're seeing.

Nolen has the elite quickness but I am with you, Grant would have been my pick at 12. Wow Grant, Ezi, and Revel. Talking about a defensive change in philosophy.

Like I said it probably means nothing but it would not suprise me to see them not trade for a high level WR top pair with Lamb.

I think Mazi might be a good run defender this year. Based on his play the 2nd half of the season, Im actually fairly confident he will be a solid there this year. I just dont think he is ever going to be a 3 down player though

He is never going to be all that as a run defender.
NT is a separate position and the morons in the front office have ignored the reality that your NT MUST DEFEND THE RUN. Pass rush is NOT AS IMPORTANT. We have suffered literally a decade plus of ignoring that FACT.

I get your point about the Eagles but put Mazi and Osa in a rotation with Carter and they would look mighty different as well. Then gives us Davis and Williams. I don’t see a difference.

But we do not have anyone of the quality of the great D lines of the past.

I see Taio and Maryland's Tommy Akingbesote NT picks like Justin Rogers, John Country Ridgeway, Quinton Bohanna .. nuthin wrong with chancing throwing hope-luck darts in dark with very late round draftees at the NT role. That's a low risk/high reward chance.

Hopefully they at least hit gem on one of them. We still have such a grave need to be far more physical and brawner in the trenches vs run.

The defense gave up tons of points because the offense was going 3 and out or turning the ball over all the time. I remember the first Eagles game. The defense kicked Philadelphia’s booty and then Zeke fumbles the ball going in for a score. As long as the defense is healthy it will be a top 10 unit.

There is zero chance of that happening.

Yeah, I don’t get the inclusion of Diggs as a key piece in the defensive backfield. Not on here, although I do see some posts saying that, but the national media almost always does. I don’t think the Cowboys do which is why Gilmore was at the Star last week.

I won’t say Diggs won’t play another down of football, but he is at best a rotational piece. Maybe he would be more had he not gotten the bag. But that took the pressure off rehabbing effort.

My biggest issue is that they did very little this entire offseason to help their biggest weakness to helping their run defense. Adding a late NT in a loaded class doesn’t move the needle
