There are possibilities and there are promises.

-1- Terrell Owens - Dominant, his past track speaks for itself. Promise
-2- Terry Glenn - Is the speedy side of the Dallas Cowboys WR core. Promise
-3- Patrick Crayton - I think he loses his third position soon, to Hurd. Promise
-4- Sam Hurd - He's showing he's starter, and can be on a high level. Promise
-5- (Acquiring WR |?|)- C. Rogers, J. Porter, M. Williams, A. Lelie, or whoever. Possibility
-5- Jamica Rector - Is showing just as much as Hurd, he's looking solid. Possibility.
-5- Terrance Cooper - Showing more and more, but I feel that he's slightly behind Jamica Rector.
-6- Miles Austin- His background in college is impressive, he broke many records in college, he's making nice grabs in practice, and he scored against the New Orleans Saints, from Tony Romo. I think he could be a promise if he shows what a Sam Hurd is showing right now. Possibility.

Miles Austin has improved, but I don't think he has done enough to make the roster. I also don't think Cooper has done enough to make the active roster. The final two preseason games are critical for Hurd, Rector, Cooper, and Austin.

and Skyler Green. He might be cut.

I agree. The next two preseason games are also critical for Green. If he doesn't make some noise in the return game, he is destined for the practice squad.

I think Austin is the guy who goes to the practice squad.

I think Green makes this team as a returner. In fact, I think he's being severely underrated around here.

I think Rector is the last guy to make it, but his versatility pushes him over the hump.

Copper just misses out.

It's Copper not Cooper.

And I see Austin on the PS.

Personally, I think we have far more quality depth at this position than most seem to believe.

Alot of youth but WR is somewhere you can have that and do well, IMO.

Who is "Cooper", you been listening to Tirico too methinks.

I say Owens, Glenn, Crayton, Hurd, Copper and maybe Green as KR.

Bingo.

3) As Corso would say, "not so fast my friend." Crayton is an absolute stud when he's healthy and from all the camp reports it looked like he was even better than he was the first part of last season. He was playing like a veteran and still has bar-none some of the best hands in the game. Hurd is still a rookie and I'm as excited about him as anyone but I think there is still a good degree of separation between Crayton and Hurd.
I agree on Rector and "Cooper".
I think "Cooper" gets cut, Green makes the team as a KR, and Austin goes to the PS. Green hasn't broken any big yet or anything but he does look VERY fluid and natural fielding kicks. The other alternative I can think of is Green going to the PS and "Cooper" sticking around. I think the staff likes "Cooper" a good deal and it will hurt to let him go but I think Green is the key to whether or not "Cooper" sticks around.

If Parcells goes with 5 WRs and, if these guys play similar the next 2 games as they did today, I think it's TO/Glenn/Crayton/Hurd with Rector/Green & Copper fighting it out for last spot; Austin goes to the PS.

I really doubt Cowboys will keep 6 WRs. It's all about numbers and we've got a few other young players we might also want to keep: Elam behind Roy Williams, McQuistan on OL, Hoyte & maybe even Glymph (although didn't see him do much of anything last nite).

BTW: I'm not too happy that we'll probably have to save a roster spot for a place kicking specialist--all because Jones wouldn't fork out the extra money for Vinatarie. I also won't be too happy that Al Johnson can only play center & can't help out somewhere else along the line. Wish he or someone else on the team can handle L/S chores so we don't have to use a roster spot on another 1 dimensional player like Ladouvier(?sp). Can someone explain to me why OL players, particularly centers, don't also learn how to L/S.

Remember our struggles a few years back when we didn't have a solid LS? I've never tried it, but it doesn't seem like something you can just learn overnight, or as you said, more teams would have a backup OL doing it.

We went from needing WR's to not knowing who to get rid of thanks to the saints.......wow!
