Those passes Andy Jones dropped were routine, so he probably just had a bit of the yips. He'll have more chances in the next few weeks. Swaim will, too.

Dak's awareness in certain instances was especially noticeable. Really nice to see a young QB who can adjust on the fly like he did tonight. Also, offensively, we were physical at the POA.

The other side of the ball remains a major concern, vs run or pass. For that, I am thankful this was PSGm1. Still hoping we find a way to hold the ball for 50 minutes.

For not having any of the four top pick on the field, you have to be happy with how the lower picks performed. Dak was obvious, but Jackson and Brown also did well tonight.

Pros:

Dak looked good.

Dez is back.

And the offensive line made me question the whereabouts of Aaron Donald.

Cons:

Bad tackling

The world overreacting to Dak. That's one thing that sucks about the Cowboys. A guy can't just have to have a good start to his career-- he has to be The Future.

Why can't he be the future?

He has all the tools and a head on his shoulder. Some have been saying he is the future since we took him.

I'm not saying he can't be. In fact, I'm on record as saying that he is our future QB.

What I'm saying is that the media just won't let him quietly come along. The hype train is full steam ahead.

That annoys me.

This is funny only because of the certain meltdown this forum would have had if Dak flopped instead.

Can he play swing tackle... Or is it a case of we move Collins over and plug him in... Which is scary

Yep, that's what we would do since Collins can play tackle. The problem with that is you weaken two positions. Not a lot - but a little. It's just amazing that a guy who never allowed a sack and never had a penalty his senior year at a big time program simply cannot play in the NFL. I'm not giving up on him yet, I know injuries can really influence confidence but I don't understand why physically he cannot compete.

Showers PROVED he's good at running for his life! He wants to live. Walking Dead? I want Showers on my team. :)

Swaim - showed why he caught one pass every other game in college in the weakest defensive P5 conference in the country.

DAK - great debut. I'm praying he holds on and continues to get better. Shocked we, the Dallas Cowboys, might have done something right i n the draft at QB!
