I think there is a huge difference. This team isn't just celebrating super bowl victories and being super bowl champions. They're climbing from low expectations together. A lot of them are players who have been generally overlooked and thought little of, but you can see the culture across the board. I don't remember seeing that as much with the 90s teams, but hey I was only a kid, maybe I wasn't looking for it.

Yeah...that nineties team was just a terrific assemblage of good, raw talent, which gelled pretty quickly between the beatdown at the Metrodome in January of 1992, to the team DOING the beatdown just 10 months later at the same venue. The team improved so fast that nobody on defense was even nominated to the pro-bowl, even after finishing as the #1 defense in 1992. Just an incredible rise of a truly historic team. Johnson usually whipped that team more than any teams they faced on Sundays.

Tap the brakes on McCoy. He's been in the league already 4 years or so and has done nothing. This is his 3rd or so team in his time. How good is he really? 70 of his yards today came on a 10yard pass that Garcon took to the house because of poor defense. People kept saying the same about Cousins after a few good games and ready to annoint him as the savior of the Skins.

Hard to play well when you're on a garbage team. I'm not putting him in Canton, but I would have liked him for Romo's backup and potential for the heir apparent.

Watch Terrell McClain...he had a pretty decent game...I think he is starting to get healthy. Selvie also much more active.

Durant with a FF and a recovery.

Yes, I noticed him a lot. He was fired up from the very beginning. He's on kick returns and was in the middle of the scrum that happened on the very first return.

Agree with all except closest. How long have you been a Boyz fan? Not arguing, just asking...

I think these kids are close and learning together.

The 90s teams were all business. This is a looser group. Equally as effective though.

I hate to put so much hope into a rookie, but our lack of pass rush will catch up to us some day.

He is a rookie that we used a 2nd and a 3rd to get... We already put a lot of hope into him by doing that. We need him to deliver as much as we needed Martin to deliver. We aren't asking him to play 60 snaps, probably not even 30. Probably 20-25 snaps, where all he does is rush the passer. His role will develop from there.

All to often expectations don't equal reality. It's be great if he could come in and lead the team in sacks by the end of the season. Which is very realistic even if he isn't a great player, since Henry Melton's 1.5 is the lead, but I doubt he becomes the answer to all our problems.

All he needs to be is a catalyst. He is probably the best pass rusher on the team, at least it appeared that way in training camp. By adding more pressure, he will turn other players' pressures into sacks.

I don't see that level of disruption from him this year. First round grade or not, that's awfully lofty expectations, considering we are avereging less than 1 sack a game.

I will say that this team is different and this fact was on full display with about 5 minutes left in the 4th. The NYG had driven right down the field and cut the lead to 7. Any of the last few years our offense would've easily went three and out OR Romo throws an INT and the game is tied shortly thereafter. But this team seizes the moment and pounds it down the Giants' throats, eats up the clock, and adds 3 points to seal the game. Forcing the defenses to put 8 and 9 people in the box means there are several fewer defenders in the secondary and Romo has a clearer, easier throw when we HAVE to throw it. We saw the same thing against Seattle and the Saints. We had the chance to put it away, and we did it, largely by grinding it out. 3rd and short, the D can stack 10 in the box and we can still consistently pick up the first down. That has been huge. I've never been so pleasantly shocked about a team as I have about our Boys this year.

That all said, our D didn't get much pressure up the middle…which is why Sheli was able to keep the NYGs somewhat in it. The Iggles blitzed and stunted and blitzed right up the middle all night and a Sheli forced to move off his X is a very very very terrible QB.

OMG, its so incredibly wonderful to have a kicker that is automatic.

Before Dez, before Murray, before Carter, we must re-sign Ro McClain. I don't remember too many defenses where a LB changed so much for it….maybe Ray "accessory to murder" Lewis? McClain gives the D a physicality it hasn't had in decades.
Additionally, I'd still love be able to see what Ahmad Dixon would've given us, not much by way of INTs, but he and Ro McClain would make a lot of offenses very very scared.

I'm finally seeing what all the offseason coach's hubbub was about Justin Durant. He's all over the place.
I like Church, and Wilcox is okay, but sure would love a S that makes a lot of INTs.

The holding penalties just about made the game a lot more competitive than it should've been. Singlehandedly killed at least two offensive drives when we were in a groove and the NYG had no clue of how to get us stopped. On that note, if we can stay away from turnovers, minimal penalties, and not make a mess on STs, we can easily play deep into the playoffs or beyond. The only teams that concern me are Green Bay, Denver, and Philly.

On a final note, please please let us not lose to Dolt McCoy, haven't been able to tolerate that guy since he left high school.
