Obviously, you just don't like them.

1. They are insanely popular.
2. They are a rock band.
3. They have been around for 2 decades.

I think that should be enough.

Popularity as well being a rock band/being around for 20 plus years is and shouldn't be enough. The HOF should be reserved for the crème de la crème of the rock world which in reality should mean only 1 or 2 bands a year get induction.

And no I don't care for them......
I find it comical to seem them at 50 yrs old still wearing the sneers and playing the "look at the me im an angry young man card' as if they are 20-something. And lets not forgot their very subpar musicianship.
Crème De La Crème they are not.......

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone? It's not warm when she's away? It is old, but you've heard it. It's been covered several times including a version from Tracy Chapman and Eric Clapton. Withers was a really good R&B singer in the 70's that also recorded Lean On Me and Just The Two Of Us.

That was way before my time. If I've heard it I don't know it off the top of my head.

Who the heck is Bill Withers? And Madonna is there already. Yea she's really rock and roll.

WOW is really all I could say about this. You might have heard his more popular songs 'Just The Two Of Us', 'Lovely Day', 'Ain't No Sunshine'. Bill Withers is one of the greatest soul musicians of all time.

Hall of Shame.

Took them years to add Kiss, Sabbath and Alice Cooper.

Groups like Public Enemy and Melle Mel and Furious Five are in...which I love both groups but they are in no way shape of form Rock and Roll.

Iron Maiden and Judas Priest have not made it in yet.

They need to change the name of it to Music Hall of Fame. I don't know why they named it that in the first place and what is taking them so long in changing it. Look at the original inductees in 1986 there were a lot of soul/R&B artists inducted.

I'm in my 20's so if he was popular in the 70's...well do the math. I don't know much about current music either actually. I rarely listen to the radio & if I do it's usually classic country.

I feel ya. I just started listening to a lot of older music from all genres except country(sorry) from the 60s, 70s, and 80s and really appreciate and love it. I'm a little older than you so I know in my 20s I wasn't very interested in older music but years later I really appreciate what came before me.

Yeah, great songs. Now I will have Lovely Day on my mind for the next hour or so. Thank you :D

I do not like the current country stuff..it's just pop. I like George Strait, Johnny Cash, those types.

I appreciate all the information about this Withers guy but I remain blissfully ignorant I guess. I know who Joan Jett is & I know who Green Day is although I am not a fan.

It's kind of weird how they select artists who are obviously not rock and roll.

Great, great song. Only thing is it's too short, could have more verses.

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
It's not warm when she's away.
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And she's always gone too long
Anytime she goes away.

Wonder this time where she's gone
Wonder if she's gone to stay
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And this house just ain't no home
Anytime she goes away.
And I know, I know, I know, I know,
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,
I know, I know,

Hey, I oughtta leave young thing alone
But ain't no sunshine when she's gone
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
Only darkness every day.
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And this house just ain't no home
Anytime she goes away.

Lol

You heard something?

saw her at the '82 Texas Jam at the Dome, me and about 30,000 other people went outside after about 2 songs, she sucked bad, worse than bad. Ended up being a nice break though, got our heads right for Santana and Journey. I'll have to say about 2 hours of bongo drums with Santana was almost too much to take.

Green Day epitomizes today's taste in music. No talent whatsoever but the media says we should like them so we do. I loathe them. All their crap is the same three chords. Someone who has never picked up a guitar could learn to play their stuff in a week. I literally cringe every time I inadvertently hear one of their stupid songs. Like fingernails on a chalkboard. R&R HOF... what a joke.

You can play about 90% of all songs with 4 chords.

Next, you will tell me the Beatles or Elvis sucks, because their songs are simple to play.

Deep Purple should be in. Blackmore is genius. Never understood the whole Cleveland thing. Is it because you can buy a city block for like 100K?

Not a green day fan. They have a few songs I like. They do suffer from "Boston" syndrome. All songs and music sounding the same.
