Today's mock was geared toward Quinn as our new DC.

PFN w/ 2 trade downs again. Also landed a 2022 CLE 2nd

26. LB Collins - I think he can be the true play-maker we need in the middle of the D. Instantly upgrades our LBs.

44. DT Barmore - 310# DT that can get to the QB, can play either 1 or 3. He and Gallimore make a great pairing.

60. DT Shelvin - Huge 360# DT that is a run stuffing specialist. He and Barmore together make a wall vs the run.

75. DE Roche - smallish but very smooth, fast, strong athlete with good hands and very good pass rush skills.

99. S Cisco - good size and fluid athlete who is a true ball magnet, 13 ints and 14 break ups in 24 games

130. CB Adebo - versatile, good zone CB with good size, length and instincts

167. CB Carter - very good press sticky CB, quick feet, loose hips, good speed

Over the next few months leading up to the draft, I'm gonna do several simulator run mocks. I'm going to use PFN, thedraftnetwork and some others.

I'll randomly post them here, for your viewing pleasure or disdain, but mainly so I can see how things change over that time period.

1/5/21 First simulated mock was w/ PFN, no comp picks yet, accepted a trade down w/ NE for 15 & 46

15 Surtain CB
44 Barmore DT
46 Letherwood OT
75 Nasirildeen S
105 McGrove LB
167 Washington S
200 Anderson OG
Your first three players all have 1st round grades. There is no way you get all three of those guys.

It's a sim, I only selected who was there when I picked. And IMO, Barmore and Letherwood are reaches in rd 1, both are most likely 2nd rdrs. At least they were before last nights game. Time will tell how much their stock rises going forward.

I love Surtain and Leatherwood BUT I think Leatherwood is long gone before #46

Jan 20 mock on PFN, couple of trade downs made.
I don't agree with where some of these guys were available, but they were there so I took them. I'm really hoping we can get a better CB prospect than Samual but he's what was left. Jones could be a good rusher to play Leo for us. Carman would probably move inside to guard but be a welcome addition to that group.

24. S Moehrig TCU
44. DT Barmore Ala
46. CB Samual Jr. FSU
54. DE Jones Pitt
75. OT Carman Clm
108. LB Cox LSU
203. LB Hillard OSU
2022 Pitt 3rd pick.

With all the needs elsewhere they should not take a WR anywhere unless it is some unbelievable talent that it would be transcendent.

I've found that the better the big board is the more realistic the players available with each pick become. At least until round five or so. Mock drafts are a great way to become familiar with the prospects and start discussions about them.

New mock from thedraftnetwork simulator has no trades but with comp picks, even though I don't think the draft order is not yet correct.

I was kind of cornered in rd 1 so I took the OT. He's very good and a great fit for us being able to play either G or OT. I wouldn't hate it, but TBH, I don't want to pick him or any offensive player at 10 if I can help it.

222. CB Wilcox BYU

1/22/21, profootball network.
Traded back 2x and ended up with this:

19.
Zaven Collins
LB Tulsa
44.
Trevon Moehrig
S TCU
51.
Asante Samuel Jr.
CB Florida State
75.
Liam Eichenberg
OT Notre Dame
82.
Ar'Darius Washington
S TCU
108.
Marvin Wilson
DT Florida State
176.
Malcolm Koonce
EDGE Buffalo
203.
Ventrell Miller
LB Florida
206.
Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa
DT Notre Dame

I would have liked another CB, but I tried to stay close to the top of the board with each pick.

1/26 PFN all defense
*trade down -10 for 19 and 51 /Washington took QB Lance at 10
*trade up - 44 and 51 for 29 /GB took DE Phillips 44 and LB Surratt 51

19 CB Horn SC /s/
29 LB Bolton Miz /s/
75 S Grant UCF /s/
108 DT Brown TAM /s/
170 SS Ford Pitt
203 DT Ray ALA

First let me say I think this draft is very possible. And secondly I have to say that, I really like this draft. I think we could get 4 starters /s/ out of this group. Possibly more, because both Ford and Ray have potential to very good players on the next level. A draft like this could positively change our defense, quickly.

Did one of these as well for my YouTube channel. Basically...

R1 P10 CB Caleb Farley - FSU
R2 P42 DT Jay Tufele - USC
R3 P74 NT Tyler Shelvin - LSU
R4 P99 S Paris Ford - Pittsburgh
R4 P114 S Ar'Darius Washington - TCU
R4 P139 EDGE (right side) Shaka Toney - Penn State
R5 P177 CB Marco Wilson - Florida
R6 P188 EDGE Tarron Jackson - Coastal Carolina University
R6 P222 RB CJ Marable - Coastal Carolina University
R7 P234 QB Zac Thomas - App State

Didn't cover OL (probably should've taken Brady Christensen out of BYU over Ar'Darius Washington in the 4th, didn't NEED that second safety that bad.) But besides that the opportunities just weren't there. Same with linebacker. Still love this draft.

I like it, but...I think as the draft process goes along Barmore is going to sneak into the first round and if you mean McGrone the LB out of Michigan Dallas will be lucky if he's still on the board in the 2nd when they pick. It's a weak defensive draft and if you want corners or linebackers you'd better get it done early.
I am not a draft guru, by any stretch of the imagination, but Barmore seems to be falling more than rising. Some people had him in consideration here at #10 overall, and I am seeing him rated much lower than that. He might be available at our second round pick, or even later than that according to some.

you're looking at a mock I did weeks ago, I have done several mocks since that one.

at that time Barmore was just starting to rise, but I thought he'd be more of a rd2 guy. IMO, he seems to have risen into mid-late 1st early 2nd by many people. I still think he's a rd2 guy. But he may not make it to 44.

Is this Mike Vrabel's son?

Not impressed with LaBryan Ray. Has the body, but I doubt his motor.
He should have stayed at Bama another year.
