I think what CB4322 meant by mentioning Romo's golfing was the effort he made trying to get in the US Open over the summer. In other words, not golfing as a hobby as many NFL players do, but working to compete in a tournament in the time leading up to camp. Sort of a golf version of Bo Jackson or Deion Sanders.

Hmmmm, we need a RHT vs HRT thread! :D

The answer to this is easy. Even if Romo was performing better, (and however is practicing against the third team def. will look better) we can't use RHT. People would think we were discussing Tucker v. Rogers.

The acronym has to be HRT, because that is the only way either will see the field! (Here it comes)

When Bledsoe is HRT!

:laugh1: Ohhh, I crack myself up!

Again....so what?

If it doesn't interfere with his NFL job....which it obviously didn't, why does ANYBODY care that he went GOLFING?

Why not try to make the tournament? Is there a problem with this? Do you honestly think that if he made the tournament, that he would take time away from camp? Hardly.

Try it to see if you qualify.....is there harm in this?

This thread will self destruct in five, four, three, two, one....

I can save this thread!

We need to get Quincy Carter into camp fast. There is still time to get him up to speed and let him start! He doesn't fool around with golfers, and their wee little balls! He has no distracting hobbies that will keep him from reaching the pinnacle in football, (here it comes)

the Fulton County Jail!

:laugh1: Geez, my sides are hurting!

Thats the obvious solution. I mean, you can smoke weed in the locker room or on the field, but you need a golf course to play golf. Where art thou, Quincy?

Dlk, this is exactly what I was referring to with the golf thing. That is why I said what I said in my original post. Now, if it had been a smaller tournament, like a one day golf outing, I don't have a problem with that, but the US Open is completely different. That being said, let's just see what happens with the rest of training camp. It's water under the bridge.

When Romo was interviewed on KTCK, he said he just loves to golf because he's a competitor and he doesn't get that part of his life fulfilled in the offseason. He loves to play the best golfers in the area, even golfers that are better than him, and beat them. He said plays golf maybe once or twice when the season starts, because he gets to fulfill his appetite for competition with football.

I happen to like the fact that Romo is a competitor and takes on challenges and is good at anything he sets his sights on. That's the sign of a winner to me.

Most definately, he would! He can make more money in one golf tournament then he could as a backup QB. Not to mention the sponserships, promotions, etc,.

If you had a choice to make two million a year providing target practice for NFL def. linemen, or two million a week for walking in the park, what is to think about?

Dude is using his golf as leverage. If he doesn't make it in football, he falls back on golf. He can play gold professionally until he is 60!

Who is richer? Tiger Woods or Peyton Manning?

Your damn right he would have gone to the Open. And it would have sent a clear message to the Jones family as well! Play me or I go get my PGA card.

Just QUALIFYING for the US OPEN is an accomplishment is it not?

Why not play to see if you can't accomplish that when most people cannot?

I'd rather have him try his hardest at everything he does, then go half-way.

Again....GOLF?

I would think that if Romo missed even 5 seconds of his football responsibilties due to golf that Bill would be far, FAR more pissed about it than anyone here, and he certainly would be on the "Hutch Track...."

Why don't we leave the comparisons on the field?

Give me a break...I hardly believe that he would break away and go to the tour.

Leverage? Did he get a raise out of this? LOL. Even if he did make it, he had absolutely NO LEVERAGE....Jones could just say "OK...Bye." He had never started an NFL game yet....it's not likt it is Peyton Manning making the tournament right before negotiations, here....Leverage....LOL

:lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2:

Wow ... From being an undrafted free agent trying to make the team, to having "leverage" and holding the Jones family hostage for more money.

How far our little Romo has come.

See what I mean? Romo can do no good....

He does good in golf.....people don't like him because of it.

It's beyond ridiculous.

You see I'm an evil mastermind, able to force fellow forum members to travel many miles to Tempe Arizona, where I force booze into them and brainwash them into an anti-Romo tour de force.

My control is so strong that it held up after they traveled many miles home, and it holds to this day.
