My Theory on Texans Game

I suspect, at least I hope, a significant portion of our week was spent preparing for the Eagles. Not saying the Cowboys didn't prepare for the Texans. But I think it's possible that they didn't spend all week preparing for them and instead spent some time looking down the road and preparing for the Gals game coming up.

A win is a win, so we still beat the Texans. In the NFL, anything is possible.

Either way, whatever happened, the end result was a win. So I'm hoping we at least spent some of last week gearing up for the Eagles. If that's the case, which I cannot be sure, hence why I say "theory," then that could pay off in the long run. If it isn't, well, like they say, any given Sunday...

NO bad execution, plays were open. many aspects of the poor execution of play calls and simply being OFF. sure dropped tds, drop passes, OL getting pushed back, tipped balls etc etc the team was simply OFF.

this was NOT the 21 Denver game, the play calls should have worked and just one payer or 2 didn't execute broke clearly well designed called play to fail.

Too many distractions including the OBJ drama.
Washington and Tyron back getting practice reps, taking away from what became the normal routine.
Antony Brown injury and adjustments.

Plus Texans were fired up and had a good game plan, threw in the dual QB's. It was their SB.

Some poor play from Dallas and the fumbled punt, Dak was off.

I thought maybe this too and maybe a bit of misdirection.

I think Cowboys played a bad game and Houston fought hard when they saw they had a chance. Cowboys 1st drive they cut through Houston with ease. Came up with a 3 and out then the botched fair catch opened up the door. It was just plain and simple poorly played game by Dallas. No excuse for it but it happens.

Same thing happened that always does. Jerrah ran his mouth about Super Bowl, Dak playing 10 more years, OBJ, etc. and the players mirrored the unearned swagger and false confidence.

Eagles and 49ers are gonna clock this team in the playoffs

If we do. Will you be happy? For once? lol
Nah his narrative will switch . I try to give him the benefit of the doubt because occasionally he has a decent take but most of them are about as relevant as my morning flush

Dallas need to win 2 more before they are even thinking playoffs.

In this vein I've been kind of wondering if Kellen sandbags his playcalling against who he considers weaker teams. The playcalling against the Vikings was outstanding and was comparatively vanilla against Indianapolis and Houston. Probably just me grasping for a logical reason for the sputtering but there may be a hint of truth there.

Dallas played below average most of the game. Houston played their hearts out and played maybe their best game of year.

Dallas was able to make some plays at the end and they avoided a loss. Simple diagnosis, move on to Jacksonville.

My "theory" is the refs took the week off from abusing us to lull us into thinking they won't abuse come the Eagles game. So expect no ref bias for Jacksonville either and then wham-o!

Am I doing it right?

Ol' Moe showed up and as alot of us said the Texans were going to treat this game like a SB.... Once they saw some light it was game on.

If this were true, KM would be an even worse OC then I thought.

So how does preparing for another team lead to Dak’s terrible performance and decision making? Throwing in to coverage, bad passes, etc. has nothing to do with that.
