My Theory on Texans Game

I think it’s much simpler to explain. The NFL is a week to week league. Just because team A beats team B by 14 and team B beats team C by 10, that doesn’t mean team A will best team c by 24. Matchups, injuries, distractions, and mental focus all come into play and can change the suspected outcome from week to week. Dallas did not look focused or well prepared while Houston looked like they prepared for the most important game of the year. Most people think football is mostly a physical game and sure it can be but a player or team that loses even a small amount of mental toughness and preparedness can get beat down by a less talented team that shows up focused and well prepared. Another thing I’ve noticed and would like to point out is that it seems team are making big changes against Dallas. By that I mean, they come out and do things that they haven’t put on tape yet. It’s like they save it for Dallas. Philly left Parsons unblocked and made him defend two options which was impossible and they kept doing it until Dallas adjusted. Dallas was totally unprepared for that. Houston came out with the two QB thing and that’s certainly something Dallas didn’t prepare for. Other teams have pulled out trick plays and fake punts that they never did before. For me, I just think Houston showed up fully mentally up for the game and for whatever reason Dallas as a whole was not 100% there. A win is still a win but they need to find a way to not have letdown games. Champions rarely do that!

Exactly i watched the 90's Cowboys blow games against the Rams and such, usually was a wakeup call for them...lets see if this team comes back with focus and gets back to business.

The simple answer is this is not a championship team. Dak is not a championship QB. And the defense with gluestick manning the MLB position is horrible at stopping the run or screen. We will get shredded in the playoffs. There will be no super bowl.

Lol, show me on the doll exactly where the 90's Cowboys touched you're team please..lol

I suspect, at least I hope, a significant portion of our week was spent preparing for the Eagles. Not saying the Cowboys didn't prepare for the Texans. But I think it's possible that they didn't spend all week preparing for them and instead spent some time looking down the road and preparing for the Gals game coming up.

A win is a win, so we still beat the Texans. In the NFL, anything is possible.

Either way, whatever happened, the end result was a win. So I'm hoping we at least spent some of last week gearing up for the Eagles. If that's the case, which I cannot be sure, hence why I say "theory," then that could pay off in the long run. If it isn't, well, like they say, any given Sunday...
Very unlikely. We’ve already prepared for the Eagles once this year. They haven’t changed anything. There’s no way this team spent even 5 minutes on the Eagles with 2 games before them. The Eagles game isn’t going to mean anything unless they lose unexpectedly. McCarthy is a one game at a time guy.

I gave you like because I totally agree.

But you are preaching to the choir. You have to figure out a way to reach those lost souls with the tin foil hats and agendas formed on hearsay from decades past.

It is a daunting task but I pray you can save just one soul.

My theory is someone played Slim Whitman in the locker room before the game and it just took a long time for the players to get their ears outta their stomach.

Dallas need to win 2 more before they are even thinking playoffs.

Actually- I don't think we can be passed for at least a playoff berth by virtually any NFC WC Contender right now.

Dallas would have to lose out and all kinds of wild scenarios take place.

Not many teams can even reach 10 victories which we already have.

Reactions: CWR
Too many distractions including the OBJ drama.
Washington and Tyron back getting practice reps, taking away from what became the normal routine.
Antony Brown injury and adjustments.

Plus Texans were fired up and had a good game plan, threw in the dual QB's. It was their SB.

Some poor play from Dallas and the fumbled punt, Dak was off.

There was no padded practice. The problems clearly were not from LT and WR. Try again, kitty.

Kind of Iike my theory on the playoff game last year and how they were looking ahead to this season.

Come on man. Lets not make excuses. The Cowboys just need to get mad at their performance last week and do something about it. Problem around here is the players don't get mad, just the fans.

Sorry Dude, not buying into your post, not with that young gun Jacksonville team waiting to score fast and often against this UP and DOWN team, that is led by a 4th rd, less than mediocre QB who says he's broken and has to FIX HIMSELF..........LOL!!!!!!! Prescot has suck all the energy out of our defense, that is tired of constantly baling this piss poor QB out!

I highly doubt that was the case.

I love the concept, but I don't think any coaches would be so bold. It's too risky to look past an opponent. I wish this were true, though.

Nah his narrative will switch . I try to give him the benefit of the doubt because occasionally he has a decent take but most of them are about as relevant as my morning flush
Dragon scat!!!!

preparing for the eagles!? we have Jags and Titans still yet and you think we are prepping for eagles. we know the eagles. we played them twice last year. and once this year. twice the year before. yes, hurts has changed, but most other personnel are the same. they were not prepping for the eagles.

If true, that's a problem.
You should focus 100% on the game ahead.
The coaches should especially know this.

Unlikely any Eagle game planning took place last week. The game was close because we turned the ball over and allowed a bunch of points off those turnovers, plus we couldn't punch it in from the 2. We were fortunate to return the favor and stone the Texans on 4th and goal.

I don't care how good or bad teams are, turning the ball over 3x is a recipe for a loss in the NFL. Dak had what, 12 tipped passes? That's an insane number that's unlikely to be repeated.

Not worried.

If thats the case the outcome was poor, Hurts a Filly OL is much superior to Driskell and houston . They will eat us alive, we hardly could stop Driskell.
