IM gonna start my thoughts with Taco Charlton.
The guy is starting to make Randy Gregory obsolete. He's had two very solid games opposite Lawrence. He's aggressive and his added weight is making it hard for LTs to handle him alone, especially with the speed and the bend he has.
On the other side the NFL still hasnt found a way to stop Lawrence yet. Guy continues to basically pressure the QB on virtually every play.
Then comes in Dorance Armstrong, he's is really strong for a guy that is supposedly undersized.
Then you still got more pressure inside from Crawford who being moved inside is probably the best move Dallas made all offseason.
People on here are praising the DBs, well it all starts up front. You wonder why the DBs are having success, well its because QBs dont have the time to throw.
Dallas has the 4th ranked defense in the NFL, and is 18 total yrds from being the 2nd ranked defense. And what makes this even more impressive is that the defense has been on the field so much with the offense having its problems. They are ranked 3rd in points allowed, again pretty impressive with how much they been on the field. And here is why the defense is so good right now. The defense leads the whole NFL in sacks. You read right, they lead the NFL in sacks and QB pressures.
The OL improved from a bad first game. Still working out the kinks and getting familiar with eachother, but its an improvement. Connor Williams had a very good game and actually had the best block of the night on Elliots longest run of the night. IN fact Williams was the reason that run went for what it did. Looney had some issues with NYs NT, guy who on a couple plays just threw Looney off him. Think we are seeing the decline of Tyron, hopefully the team sees this and doesnt play the situation by heart but whats better for the team. Starting to think that Collins just isnt a very good NFL tackle. If he continues to struggle i wouldnt be suprised if Fleming comes in. The OL is scraping and fighting, i see some draft picks coming this yr on the OL. Frederick deal doesnt make it impossible for Dallas if he has thoughts of retiring. Dallas can cut him as a june 1 cut and save 8mil. Think we might have to come to terms that he might just have to retire. Bring him back as a coach.
Dak had a decent game...He had some struggles but he had alot of very impressive situations. Especially the game clinching drive. A certain play that even Collinsworth talked about was Dak reading the defense and saw Dallas didnt have anybody that was able to block a blitzer, so he told the OL to shift its blocking left to account for the blitzer. They did and Dak had the time to convert.
Rico saw some action lastnight. And you can just see that he is going to be a player for Dallas. He can beat LBs and S are too small to cover him. Its just gonna take time to get some chemistry with Dak. Lastnights would be TD was because of chemistry along with holding that wasnt called on NY and Rico stumbling. Its encouraging to see him active though.
WRs are still a work in progress, but its clear WR will probably be the biggest need this offseason. I like David Sills in the draft. IMO perfect type of WR for this team.
Hurns i doubt makes it the entire yr on the team. You dont bite the hand that feeds you, and his interview did just that this past week.
Wouldnt mind Dallas going in on Josh Gordon but i dont see that happening.
Tavon Austin need to be on the field more. IDC what his past is like, but its clear he can beat any CB in the league, just like he beat one of the best in Jenkins with pure speed. The team just has to find ways to get the ball in his hands.
Gonna be a tough game in SEA this week. Would love it if ET made the trip back to Dallas on the team flight lol.
