We see players time come and go, and sometimes for the better. We can celebrate the career for somebody and be grateful we saw him play for the best team in sports. But when you see somebody who brings a team together when doubt is everywhere thats something special. Thats what i see through my eyes right now. I see a special player in Dak who has just made this team better. It's got nothing to do with Romo because ive rooted for him too. But i just see no way this team can sit Dak. And they shouldnt because he's led this team, and he's not restricted or handcuffed by the coaches. He changing plays as he sees it on the field, and he shows the poise and patience to let a play develop that we really never saw with Romo. Rather than force the ball Dak will wait for the open guy or run. So saying all that im not going to apologize for being so open about how much i dont think this team needs Romo starting anymore. Everybody has an opinion and this is mine.

Dez IMO is another player that Dak is making less important with his ability to run the offense within the offense instead of trying to please a me first player. Or a superstar "passionate" player as most will argue that Dez is. This team just seems to be just that a team without Dez and his limited routes in the game. The team just seems less predictable because u have so many different routes across the field instead of one side dedictated to one guy to run deep. Teams are being forced to cover the entire field opening up mismatches and clearing the way for the run and screens. Again im not going to apoloize about being so open about these views. I'm just seeing something i like about this team now that i didnt when he's on the field.

Elliot is a beast and he's gotten better every week. I would smile when people would say start Morris over him, and i can just shake my head now thinking bout it. And i mean when friends would tell me that. Morris is a good RB but he's not Elliot league. He had minimal carries in preseason and took a couple weeks to adjust. He's killing teams now, and he's the best RB in the nfl. Todd Gurley who?

The OL made a statement today, IMO they had a chip on their shoulder by the outright disrespect they got by media and Cowboy fans hyping the Bengals DL. This was Tyson vs Spinks just two different levels of play. Wasnt even a game out there. I dont see how this team cant see Leary having a future in DAL. If it were my call i would resign him to start at LG and move Collins over to RT. Leary is just a guy who create holes you can drive a semi through. Smith|Leary|Fredrick|Martin|Collins is my starting OL in 2017.

Welcome back Lawrence, the guy was all over the field. Great game inside from McClain, starting to see the Cowboys saw 3 yrs ago. This whole DL is starting to shape out. They are deep and just seem to stay fresh throughout the game.

Morris Claiborne, is a shut down CB. He embarrassed AJ Green today. We see what Dallas saw when they drafted him. He had injuries and we called him a bust. Its safe to say he's having the last laugh. Guy is playing tremendous football.

Dallas has had one of the best drafts ever this past yr.

Ezekiel Elliot
Maliek Collins
Dak Prescott
Anthony Brown

Thats 4 starters in 1 draft. I add Brown as a starter because he's actually started 2 games with teams starting the game 3 wide.

Then you have Jaylon Smith, who you dont need to introduce
Kavon Frazier who is a key ST guy.
Darius Jackson who Dallas wont even risk putting on the PS because he wont make it. Future backup RB

Then you have Tapper and Rico.

This was a great draft

Cant wait for next weeks game.

I agree with everything here and love the way Dak is operating the offense. We happened to win without Dez which says a lot about this team and Dak but let's not just toss Dez to the side like a piece of trash. We absolutely need his dynamic playmaking ability. It's been a run first offense for quite some time and Dez gets this. We may have even scored more today. Relax.

I'm one of the bigger Romo homers out there, but aside from the raw "this season" type of reasons, I think the team as a GM decision (terrifying since that's JJ) needs to think if we need to take the 4th rounder QB discount here, and ride Dak for the next few seasons while spending the savings on defense.

If we spend Romo's money on retaining our own players (Mo) and adding a LB and a stud DL or two, and we are really cooking with gas. Where even if Dak stumbles, we have resources allocated to defense due to having a cheap QB. Seattle's 3-4 year run agrees with this plan.

Dallas doesnt toss players. They are the last loyal team in sports. I think we will see less of Dez and more of team. And thats a good thing.

Good post.

The 2016 draft looks like it can be an all time great draft-- especially if Smith comes back 100%. I love Dez too. He is a passionate player and you could just see him getting psyched on the sidelines. When he, Dak, and Zeke are all out there together again-- it's going to be a feeding frenzy.

I am in shock actually. I expected us to lose today by a narrow margin. I did not expect Dak to play with such composure and efficiency. I have been in favor of Romo returning to QB by week 8-- but if Dak wins next week and is playing the way he is, he is definitely making it very difficult to pull him. I guess at this point, I will support whatever decision the FO makes. If it's Romo, I will support him and hope he regains his 2014 form and will look fwd to Dak's future.

If they swap Dak for Romo-- then we ride the hype train this year. What a great problem to have: 2 NFL franchise QBs :)

I can't help but think of those who really crapped on the Cowboys draft and said we totally blew it for weeks afterwards.

- Romo is a better quarterback than Dak. But I'm with most of you all. I don't see how you sit him even when Romo is ready. He brings an intangible to this team I haven't seen since Aikman. I get the feeling that he elevates the entire offense. He uses ALL of his receivers, so much so that Dez Bryant is an afterthought.
The Romo era brought excitement, and I believe he could pull a rabbit out of a hat when you needed one. But I also felt he would always do something or something would go wrong on the offense, and we'd lose the game. I don't have that feeling with Dak. Now, granted, Dak is still learning, and he's going to have some bad games. All quarterbacks do. But he is as impressive as ever. I stand amazed every time he plays. He so poised, and he runs the offense with efficiency. And he gives us a running option at quarterback.
I'm surprised you didn't mention how Dak has thrown ZERO interceptions. That's huge.
- Mo is doing great. However, we weren't running man coverage today. We were in zone coverage, and the way we were playing took Green out of the game.
- Where was Malik Collins today? Did he play?

Next week is the final test, if Dak leads this team to victory in Green Bay I think you have to stick with Dak at that point. Impressive performance today.
I dont even see this team going back even with a loss to GB. Dak is the only starting QB in the NFL without a INT. Run with him and let Romo back him up. Patriots did it with Brady. They just couldnt take him out for Bledsoe and Bledsoe was having a great yr just got hurt but they saw what they in Brady.

Indeed. It's a team game and right now this team is doing very well with the "bus driver." Don't make the QB change unless it is really needed...

I think it's foolish to allow Dez's injury to trash him. He makes Dak's job easier and he's an exceptional player. He's needed to for us to maximize our potential.
IM not trashing him. Ive been a big Dez fan his entire career. I've even had contact with him from designs ive done and he's favorited and sent me thank yous in personal emails and twitter dms. But there comes a time when the team moves on because ur time off the field is starting to rival the time ur on the field and being productive. And i agree he makes the offense better, WHEN he's healthy and his head is in the game.

Ya Dak is the man for this team and that's strange but true. Still I give Romo his job back
and see what happens. If the team goes into some kind of lower performance the
big call is made and Dak takes the helm. Everybody sees Dak's QB skills but you dont
dump Romo..
What a game. What a Zeek the Freak, damn we are a pretty good team you know.

I have a question since I dont see the games, how good was M.Collins today?

It definitely gets tougher to go back to Romo after each performance.. I wonder what the internal brass are thinking right now?

Wonder the same thing. I just dont think they would mess with the dynamic that has them playing some of the best football in the league.
