IM not trashing him. Ive been a big Dez fan his entire career. I've even had contact with him from designs ive done and he's favorited and sent me thank yous in personal emails and twitter dms. But there comes a time when the team moves on because ur time off the field is starting to rival the time ur on the field and being productive. And i agree he makes the offense better, WHEN he's healthy and his head is in the game.
If we get anything out of Tapper and Jaylon Smith, this is the best draft in Cowboys history. We see players time come and go, and sometimes for the better. We can celebrate the career for somebody and be grateful we saw him play for the best team in sports. But when you see somebody who brings a team together when doubt is everywhere thats something special. Thats what i see through my eyes right now. I see a special player in Dak who has just made this team better. It's got nothing to do with Romo because ive rooted for him too. But i just see no way this team can sit Dak. And they shouldnt because he's led this team, and he's not restricted or handcuffed by the coaches. He changing plays as he sees it on the field, and he shows the poise and patience to let a play develop that we really never saw with Romo. Rather than force the ball Dak will wait for the open guy or run. So saying all that im not going to apologize for being so open about how much i dont think this team needs Romo starting anymore. Everybody has an opinion and this is mine.
Dez IMO is another player that Dak is making less important with his ability to run the offense within the offense instead of trying to please a me first player. Or a superstar "passionate" player as most will argue that Dez is. This team just seems to be just that a team without Dez and his limited routes in the game. The team just seems less predictable because u have so many different routes across the field instead of one side dedictated to one guy to run deep. Teams are being forced to cover the entire field opening up mismatches and clearing the way for the run and screens. Again im not going to apoloize about being so open about these views. I'm just seeing something i like about this team now that i didnt when he's on the field.
Elliot is a beast and he's gotten better every week. I would smile when people would say start Morris over him, and i can just shake my head now thinking bout it. And i mean when friends would tell me that. Morris is a good RB but he's not Elliot league. He had minimal carries in preseason and took a couple weeks to adjust. He's killing teams now, and he's the best RB in the nfl. Todd Gurley who?
The OL made a statement today, IMO they had a chip on their shoulder by the outright disrespect they got by media and Cowboy fans hyping the Bengals DL. This was Tyson vs Spinks just two different levels of play. Wasnt even a game out there. I dont see how this team cant see Leary having a future in DAL. If it were my call i would resign him to start at LG and move Collins over to RT. Leary is just a guy who create holes you can drive a semi through. Smith|Leary|Fredrick|Martin|Collins is my starting OL in 2017.
Welcome back Lawrence, the guy was all over the field. Great game inside from McClain, starting to see the Cowboys saw 3 yrs ago. This whole DL is starting to shape out. They are deep and just seem to stay fresh throughout the game.
Morris Claiborne, is a shut down CB. He embarrassed AJ Green today. We see what Dallas saw when they drafted him. He had injuries and we called him a bust. Its safe to say he's having the last laugh. Guy is playing tremendous football.
Dallas has had one of the best drafts ever this past yr.
Ezekiel Elliot
Maliek Collins
Dak Prescott
Anthony Brown
Thats 4 starters in 1 draft. I add Brown as a starter because he's actually started 2 games with teams starting the game 3 wide.
Then you have Jaylon Smith, who you dont need to introduce
Kavon Frazier who is a key ST guy.
Darius Jackson who Dallas wont even risk putting on the PS because he wont make it. Future backup RB
Then you have Tapper and Rico.
This was a great draft
Cant wait for next weeks game.
I dont know if it willbeat the dirty Dozen of 75 (or so). But this is shaping up to be a great draft class, no doubt. If we get anything out of Tapper and Jaylon Smith, this is the best draft in Cowboys history.
I also believe Leary should be resigned. I think RT should be a battle between Collins and Chaz.
Dak is great. I figure the first time he struggles there will be some dissention but I think he deserves to be the starter.
Zeke is a beast. I wanted Ramsey and I was wrong. Then again I didn't expect Claiborne and Carr to play so well.
The play of the DL was a shock today. If tyrone Crawford ever lives up to his hype the DL can be scary good.
This is an exciting team.
I wish I understood how the cap is affected by trades. If Romo was traded does the receiving team take the cap hit?
If so I would try to trade him. Jets maybe. I think I would trade Dez too if the price was right.
Imagine how great the cap would look then.
They said during the game there is no "target date" for romo to come back.It definitely gets tougher to go back to Romo after each performance.. I wonder what the internal brass are thinking right now?
yup just shows you why they get paid for what they do for the cowboys and we dont huh lol

Very level headed analysis. I would agree with most of this. When we had a similarly built team in 2014, Romo was in the running for league MVP.
I'm all for playing Dak until he falters, but Romo has shown how he can perform in similar circumstances. If he's healthy in a few weeks and Dak is still playing like he's been then we should feel extremely fortunate to have two quarterbacks who've shown they can win with a strong running game and suspect defense (which has had a good couple of games).
I don't believe in making a change while you're winning, but I'll certainly have no problem if we turn to Romo if Dak hits a slump. Right now, I'm just amazed by how well he's playing and hope he can keep it up. It's hard to believe we could return to our 2014 success without Romo, but it's been impressive that Prescott could step in for him and the team not miss a beat.
