The monster took on supposedly the nfls best and chewed them up and spit them out(GB DEF). This was bigger mismatch then the bengals game. I dont see how Leary is not the starting LG in 2017. With Collins moving over to RT. Give Leary a nice 4 yr deal and call it a day. Let Green be that swing tackle that can come in and start when needed. Leary is quickly making people remember how nasty he is. You improve this OL if thats even possible by adding an athletic monster to RT where you have an aging vet who is starting to lose his wheels.

Elliot keeps on separating himself from the NFL backs. IMO the only one close to his league is Bell.

Beasley just cant be covered right now. TW has stepped up into the lead spot while Dez has been out and Butler is good for a TD catch a game. With Witten and his consistency dallas canmove the chains at will. DEz coming back will only enhance it, but the thing is you dont have to force it to him. So he needs to step up his game or hes not going to see the targets.

David Irving showed up, most of GBs yrds came out of desperation. They were totally shut down by a deep defence who can play with any team. Dont look now but Dallas has some crazy amount of depth. They dont have any stars on def but just a bounch of young guys who play physical and do their jobs. They arent going to allow anything big, but will force teams to eat up that clock to get a score. Teams get desperate and make mistakes like GB did today because they kill clock trying to score and u have Dallas chewing up crazy time getting tds.

This is 2014 all over again, only difference is you dont have Dallas with the slow starts. You have Dallas rarely trailing. You dont have Dalls turning the ball over.

Enjoy ur bye week
Only real issue with giving Leary that deal is they need to make sure those knees will hold up.

To be fair, Dak had two turnovers today, but you just trust him with the ball. And WE HAVEN'T EVEN HAD DEZ THE LAST THREE WEEKS. Man, it's going to add another dimension with him.
It's almost too easy to forget that Dak is a 4th round rookie with a mere 6 games playing in a pro-style offense. He's going to have a few hiccups along the way. He's going to learn to hang on to that ball better.

I don't think they can afford another big contract along the line. If Leary stays healthy, he's getting a big bank.
I think you're right. I dont see any reason with more coaching, that Collins can't be every bit as good though. Still VERY early in his career. He is also much cheaper.

So far I don't think he has had any issues with his knees. This far into his career I think it is fairly safe to assume that he is going to finish out a 4 to 5 year contract.

As for us being able to resign him, it is going to be hard. You almost have to get rid of Romo to make it a possibility. With Dak's emergence that is obviously a possibility but I don't think it is likely. I do believe Looney is signed for two years so you have him as a Guard possibility. Could see Chaz at RT with Collins at LG. Looney as interior backup with Cleary as the swing OT. Probably a late draft pick on OL too.

Dallas first quarter scoring ranking :

2013 = #5
2014 = #7
2016 = #9

https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/1st-quarter-points-per-game?date=2016-10-17

Thanks for that. I was looking for similar information because I get so tired of the disinformation that is spread to make it look like Prescott is doing a better job at QB than Romo does.

I'm glad we've got Prescott and I have no problem sticking with him while we're on his run, but I just can't believe that so many seem to forget what Romo has done as QB of this team. Every time I come on here someone is diminishing his accomplishments when we should just be enjoying how lucky we are to have both QBs.

I think Aikman was the one who mentioned during the broadcast about how unheard of it is to get two franchise quarterbacks and only have to spend one fourth-round pick (since Romo was undrafted). That is definitely not the conventional way to find starting QBs, so we've been very blessed.

That Whitehead sweep changed the game IMO.

We were just looking to kill the clock and get into halftime. Then Whitehead takes it close to midfield and now we are looking to put points up on the board. Instead of 10-6, it's now 17-6.

And props to him on that 3rd down catch. Sure it was easy, but the coaches are rewarding him and he's taking advantage of his opportunities.

Do you think Collins would be an upgrade over Free? If he has the feet to play tackle, that would be a coup.

I would like to see Leary stay too, but I don't think we will pay him what it would take to keep him, and at some point that knee is going to actually give out. If Collins can play right tackle, we could probably get a really good guard in the second or third round and save a boat load of cap room.

With that having been said, I would prefer we keep who we have, including Leary. I just don't know if we have the cap room. If I had to pick between this line and Dez it would be bye bye Dez.

I've been preaching this since they snagged Colllins....so many say he can't handle it but he was a stand out T in college so I don't get it....then you talk about an OL...wow...can't let leary go imo...

I'd love to keep Leary, but you just can't tie up all that money in one group. We've paid top dollars for Smith and Frederick and will soon also pay for Martin. Can't also pay top dollars for Leary and Collins. 3/5 top contracts on the O-line is already stretching it. We'll be fine with average linemen at Guard and RT. And who knows, maybe we will get lucky and Chaz will develop and be top notch and maybe we'll draft another real good guard down the road to replace Collins in a few years.

Sure you can if you have a young QB/RB who are on the cheap for the next several years.

Need some quality defenders as well. And that RB isn't all that cheap being the #4 overall draft pick.
He is cheaper than what it is going to cost when the rookie contract is up. They have some young def players on the cheap as well and if Mo keeps playing at a high level he will get paid. Look at the roster...they are young core and on the cheap right now and are starting to come together as a unit.

Packer fans after the game are saying we haven't played anyone yet. So please don't get excited about this team just yet.
It's true that none of the teams Dallas has beaten so far look like true contenders. But they're beating who is in front of them--which is all you can do. Winning at GB is never easy anyway.

I guess Washington may be playing the best of them now.

But in the NFC, who does look dominant?
Seattle, maybe Minnesota..maybe.
Dallas? Maybe Atlanta?

That's just it; nobody is standing out.
Those 4 teams are all playing well though.

That opened it up. Then they went for it in a big way. Heckuva drive to turn the tide right before halftime. Dak was mediocre before then, but that re-lit the entire team.
green bay certainly wasn't expecting the aggressive play-calling.

How about you show the actual stats that would reflect what I said?

Were scoring more 1st q points weigh Dak than Romo. 6.2 to 5.7.

lol, 1/2 a point difference for the slow starter Romo and the Cowboys were always in the top quarter of the league? Your grasping bro,,, just admit it was an erroneous statement and stop digging.

Also, how about these coaches? The play calling is creative, and brilliant. We have defenses on their heals most of the time.
Yeah, I'm a big Garrett hater, but I will give him credit this season. No wait, it's all Linehan. Garrett still sucks. :D
