My thoughts going forward

This isnt the time or the place to express your thoughts. Straight bidness

Cassell is the right guy for this team while Romo is out. He was rusty and he was getting acclimated to the system. First game action for this team he did good. he isnt going to sling the ball 40 times a game probably not even 30 even when Dez comes back but he doesnt need to.He needs to limit them INTs.
Same should apply to Romo!

"Amazing things" happen in contract years all the time

Just look at Spencer, Carter, Murray, and many many other examples

A player is who he is over his body of work not his contract year

I'm letting Mo walk after this year unless he comes with a MAJOR discount

Add Hatcher and Garrett to that list.

I think if we were winning there would be a lot more accolades rolling in for Claiborne. Having gone through the same injury he did, it is quite amazing how well he has played his season. I was skeptical and didn't think he would do well at all. I'm glad I'm wrong.

he is shutting alot of people up. Well except the ones who still blame him for the team trading up for him.

I too noticed that after we actually did a few creative things we settled right back into the same predictive offense. I was surprised the first offensive snap was play-action. We need to do that some more.

Not that I know of, but maybe that's one of the side effects and my judgement's no longer good enough to tell the difference.

I hear it's crippling to the sense of humor, though. Speaking of which, how's your rehab going?

These are just my observations but Seattle will run straight at us like the (success of) NYG last week. We have good lateral moving LB's (per the eagles game). Lee and RoMac can stop most everything from side to side however we have yet to answer the run game coming straight at us. I'll be the first to say that Lee is challenged here (with a gut run) as well at RoMac. I think Lee is just too small and be effective against runs up the middle. He's a guerilla LB who needs to be running after the play, not waiting for it to come to him straight on. It's not all on Golden Cock as many like to suggest as well.
Your comments on MoClai way off (in my book). He has little physical finesse with receivers and either gets lost or grabs hold for a ride hoping there are no penalties. He's just looks like he's off balance with no confidence playing the player or position. He's also a poor tackler (along with Carr) and looks lost in zone coverage. Want to watch great technique CB's, watch Jets, Broncos, Minnesota, Carolina. Those are beasts. They play just physical enough without getting hung up on the receiver or losing them when the ball is in the air.

I didn't see an issue with Lee's size but he was out of position a few times. RoMc was definitely out of position on some middle runs. Hayden getting pushed back does make it difficult for the LBs. The LBs are forced to go to 1 side or the other of Hayden when he gets pushed back to LB depth putting them out of position when the RB goes to the other side.

Claiborne is playing good enough to win but not good enough for any significant contract, IMO. He is getting close to playing with good technique on man coverage but his tacking has been a problem and they go to great effort to avoid having him in zone coverage because he is easily confused.

Claiborne was involved in 5 of 11 critical failed plays on defense in the Pats game.

Brady escapes pressure from both DE(s) and has the ball for 5 seconds. Claiborne in coverage. Claiborne missed the tackle that would have prevented a 1st down.

Pass in the flat. Missed tackles in order Church, Jack Crawford, White, Wilcox

NE27DAL6

3rd and 2 at NE 28 15:00 - 4th) (Shotgun) T.Brady pass deep middle to K.Martin to NE 44 for 16 yards (B.Carr). Pass complete on a "slant" pattern

Carr in coverage.

NE30DAL6

1st and 10 at NE 47 6:20 - 4th) L.Blount right end pushed ob at DAL 19 for 34 yards (B.Church)

WR gets a good block on Jones. Claiborne stays with that same WR for some reason. It almost looks like the WR is blocking both of them but Claiborne really was not blocked. Church and Wilcox are in pursuit but this one is on Claiborne and Jones.
