That's the way the ball bounces. :hammer:

Or a bobble, bloke.
Or gets a pix in the cold tundra of the NFL in December.
And he always uses "We," pretty much in post game.
"We have to get better."
I wonder about the Romo-enamored fanbase. You wish to prolong the inevitable? No, my Yank friends,.
We do need a retool in QB. If not Dak then a prime time draftee or disgruntled veteran.
Mateys, if not now, when?

2009 was his best team and shot.

Romo's best team for at least the first 12 weeks of the season was the 07 team. That was one of the best offensive teams the Cowboys have had in years. Troy Aikman even said that none of the Cowboys great 90s teams that he played for had an offense as explosive as the 07 team. That team was 12-1 at one point before the wheels started coming off. We beat the Giants twice that season pretty convincingly who ended up winning the Super Bowl. The 09 team will probably go down as a better team only because that team won a playoff game.

Too fluky. They won a game vs Minny because of a blocked FG. Needed miracles at buffalo and Detroit. Were outplayed at home by the Commanders. That team wasn't as good as its record, the '09 team should've finished 13-3.

Being able to overcome Romo's career high 6 turnovers against Buffalo to win in the final seconds showed how good that team was. Finding ways to win games when you're not playing your best is a testament to how good a team is. The 09 team got off to a shaky start and it was during Miles Austin's breakout game vs KC that the team started to come together. Even though that team won a playoff game it got completely destroyed by Minnesota the following week. The 07 team tied a franchise record with 13 wins. It's all a matter of opinion but that 07 team was very impressive until the Philly game when Romo hurt his finger and it was downhill from there.

Im expecting wither a Teddy Bridgewater( take care of the ball but play very conservative) or Derek Carr ( more aggressive game plan with a major blend of good and bad) type rookie performance from Prescott. It will be good enough to feel secure that he is our guy. But not good enough to keep Romo on the bench

Given the OL and running game I expect a lot more of the former than the latter.

Must have

How could you forget that? Even if you weren't around back then that game is one of the most talked about Cowboy games ever. No game Danny White ever played did more damage to his reputation than that game because of his fumble in the closing seconds.

Romo knows the playbook backwards and forwards and can adjust to what he sees. I would be surprised if Dak knows half of it. Romo can read a defense then slice and dice them. That is what we will be missing and that's what worries me

Never thought I would still be looking forward to a season where romo went down in preseason. I'm excited to see if we have a future.

He can but also remember room is fully capable of blowing games also. Do you forget thanksgiving against the panthers already?

We all have our preferences as to how to handle the current QB situation but with JG being such a traditionalist, he's highly unlikely to pay heed to those lobbying for Dak to replace Romo, unless Dak turns in an extremely convincing string of games in Romo's absence.

In lieu of that, any and all predictions and statements of preferences are likely to fall upon deaf ears in terms of the staff paying heed to any and all wants and preferences being submitted by the fan base.

As it now stands, the cards are stacked in Romo's favor without an extremely convincing performance being turned in by Prescott. It'll either happen in Dak's favor or it won't. In the final analysis, it simply remains to be seen how he performs. We'd best hold our water here, folks -- I believe it's bound to prove quite interesting very soon now . . . let's just hope the results favor of the team as a whole.

I'm excited to see what Dak, Zeke, and Dez can do together. The Cowboys defense may not be good enough to carry us to the playoffs. Or, who knows? It might be. We'll see.

But at least we won't have to worry about cringing every snap wondering if it will be Romo's last. That's already happened.

Sounds like ur hoping or failure without actually saying it

Never! I just hope I am wrong about the rookie QB. I just think to last year when I had the rose colored glasses on and actually thought we would do alright until Romo got back.

It's a shame this is where we are at with Romo. This guy alone has been the lone bright spot and reason for optimism since his accent as the starter. There is definitely some similarities between him and White and your right the body can only take so much. For me I just can't give up on him until he is standing behind that podium telling us all its over. If that is this year so be it but I just don't see it. We get to find out next week if this team is really ready to take the next step without Romo. This team who couldn't even beat the aints last year who had one of the worst defenses in nfl history. Players and coaches are saying and showing their support for Dak but this has been the same tune and expected tune when you lose your leader. In no way am I saying Dak won't be good he has been impressive with his poise and leadership in the pocket This preseason. I just don't put much stock in preseason stats. He has been the best rookie QB and you can't argue with his play. Stats and records don't count until next week and that is all I can go on. This team and organization has been down right terrible when Romo has been out. Even though we heard the positives and we're told they wouldn't fold they have every time. How important is next weeks game you ask...for me it's the season. IF they win I think there will actually be some positive reason for optimism but IF they lose I fear we might be right back at what we have seen without Romo before. I hope Dak is legit, I hope the coaches have prepared the troops, I hope the running game is rolling from the first snap, and I hope the defense has really improved. Most of all I hope this team is motivated and ready to put it all on the line just like Romo has since he took the reigns. For me this season is for Romo regardless if it is over or not. Hes earned my respect and deserves another legit shot as the unquestioned starter and leader of this team. I hope your teammates have your back Romo and are ready to show you starting next week! Go Cowboys!
