My thoughts on Day 2

I think part of the reason we took Mazi was because of the strong possibility of one of the TEs being there with our next pick, so I think that's where we'll go unless they all get scooped up. I think it's been made clear that LaPorta is the one we want, but we may end up having to take a different one if other teams are as high on him as we seem to be. I won't be surprised if we end up with Tucker Kraft instead.
Think LaPorta is the favorite at 58.

Just not sure he'll make it. Depends on if other teams looking at TEs have the others rated higher.
It will depend on each's team's flavor of ice cream: Mustgrave, Washington, Mayer, LaPorta, Kraft. Believe at least 1 if not 2 make it to 58.

Just have to go OL in the 2nd:
  1. No starting G opposite Martin on the roster?
  2. How many more years does Martin have?
  3. Can you count on Tyron and for how long?
  4. Last year of Biadasz's contract.
  5. Steele UFA next year
The only corner stone you can count on now and into the future is Tyler Smith, have not get another good Oline piece.

It will be interesting to see if LaPorta is gone whether they value the other TEs as much. I mean, is it a case where they believe the position has five or six worth taking early, so they'll take whichever one is there?

I know it was kind of that way when we took Ferguson. There seem to be several we were interested in, but some were taken just a little before we picked. Sometimes Dallas lucks out that the player they are left with is the one they should have taken anyway.

I don't think Dallas sees it as being as much of an urgent need as you do. They believe Edoga can be an effective starter at guard. They believe with Steele and Tyler that they can put together a five-best. And I don't believe that finding replacements for those who might be leaving next year is a priority this year.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for drafting a guard. I just believe the team feels it is covered if it decides to go a different direction.

CB Gilmore on a 1 year deal.

They won't pay both Cook and Gallup in 2024.

They lack depth at LB.

They need another RB.

TE is the least proven position on the roster.

There are some good OGs that will likely be available in the 3rd.

Sanders is a real possiblity because of his versatility. he can log in a lot of snaps in this defense,

For me it is not only about next year and beyond, they may believe Edoga can be effective starter at guard, but not sure he has show it yet. He only has 13 starts in 4 years and those starts where getting less not more. If history is any indication Tyron is going to go down at some point even Martin started to have some injury issues. It seems a bit of a house of cards with not much depth behind the things that are mostly likely going to happen.

- Mingo is my #1 target. Id give up a 3rd to get him too. Legit #1 potential. Moving up for him would be like moving up for Dlaw in 2014.

-LaPorta is probably top on their board. Would they trade up for him? Hard to say considering they talked up TE depth.

- I think Musgrave is a real possibility at 58

- 3rd round is really hard to call, but I think it could he a HB round for them. Spears maybe

- I wonder if they pull the trigger on Charbonnet at 58. He is the type of back they have been talking about targeting

- Drew Sanders is another guy to watch at 58. Could slip because he will only fit some teams. Would they do D&D though?

- Bergeron was a guy talked about as name for the Cowboys yesterday along with Avila
Avila is my target
