Even if we wanted to, we couldn't afford it.

Realistically Romo has 2 or 3 yrs left in Dallas. Dallas gave romo basically a 5 yr 79.5 mil contract but added 2 fluff yrs that he will never see. There are no SB or guarantees in thos final 2 yrs. 19.5 and 20.5 mil base salaries. But There is something not right about him. And anybody with eyes can see it in his motions and and throws. in 2015 if Romo is on the roster on the 3rd day of the league yr he gets 7.5 mil on guaranteed money. Thats something to look at. Sure theyd take a cap hit of almost 10 mil making him a june cut but save 15 mil against the cap. Remember contracts to Dez, Carter, Tyron will be time to sign that offseason too. I just dont see how they can pay them and Give Romo 25 mil. Dez is going to sign a huge deal. Contracts for LTs are always high. Carter i dont think will break the team but he's going to sign a secent contract too.

If there's something wrong with Romo this season, it sure didn't show against the Broncos. I don't see how he could have that game if there is something wrong. Now he has been off in the road games moreso than the home games, but other than when his ribs were bugging him early, he has looked fine to me.

Well, Romo did throw 2 INT's today, so maybe he does need to be replaced. The guy is clearly losing it and looks like he does not know what to do anymore with the ball. He looks tired, slow, and cannot seen to make the right reads.

He easily could have had at least 3 more TD's if his head was in the game! Romo was lucky that the refs gave him this game.

Please tell me this is sarcasm. Please.

I'm with you on a few levels.
- I think that there's something wrong with him; guessing injury.
- I think that we should consider looking for his replacement sooner rather than later. That doesn't necessarily mean that he should be replaced immediately, just that we need to have a plan for when his time is up.
- I think that he is here for two more seasons.

Im going to start this with something a little controversial. And i never thought id feel this way because i was on this guys bandwagon since before he was on anybodys radar and when 99% of Cowboy fans were on Merrimans jock. Ware is becoming less and less of a necessity to this scheme.

Marinelli is proving that he doesnt need superstars on his DL but guys who go all out and stick to the system. The stick to their gaps and play together. McCoy was a nonfactor today.

Lee and Carter are back 100% and are showing us fans what they thought about these guys coming out of college. Carter had some hickups this yr but he's back. Guy is quick to the ball and is using his head instead of just his athletic ability now. I think he got caught up in trying to make a play and he got burned a few times. Now he's learning stick to his assignment and the plays will come.

Wilcox is growing by the week. He's the future at SS, but i still feel church is a liabilty at FS. Dallas needs to address this, this offseason. Playing Church in certain packages will be better for him and this team.

These RBs Dallas has are not going to cut it plain and simple. There was holes and they just didnt hit them today. Randle IMO is Julius Jones all over. You can see it in his running, and it didnt hit me until i realised the number lol. Wouldnt hurt to bring up Meggett.

Cole Beasly should be ahead of Harris no ifs ands or buts. Should even be ahead of Miles. Austin is an afterthought. CBs just cant seem to stay with Beasly after his intial cut. Quick with great hands.

I think we are seeing the decline of Romo. And its starting to show. He's lost a little on his throws and alot of his accuracy if you ask me. They need to draft his replacement this yr and cut him after next yr. Derek Carr is the guy im hoping for.

Hatcher IDC what anybody says. Is a must sign. He blows up the entire middle of the line. People say he's playing for a contract. First he was playing DE in a 3-4, BUT when they moved him inside he always blew up the middle of the pocket. We are just seeing it consistently now because he is a DT in a 4-3.

Nevis is the guy that does all the dirty work. I love this guys motor.

Harris seems like he found his place and thats special teams. I think this team wanted more from him on the O side of the game but he's not going to produce consistently ever. But in the special teams he's a dominating force. Thats his place and thats where he should stay.

This OL had a so-so game and few penalties on Free but he saved Dallas on his FS at the goalline. Romo was going to be killed.

Carr MO and Scan have really picked up their game. Or should i said are allowed to play their game now with more man up play being allowed by Kiffin. It was obvious that Zone mess was allowing too much inside. This team is going to allow some things but since they switched to more man the payoff has been better results and wins.

This DEF shut down a Offense that killed a good bucs defense just a week ago. With Foles playing QB. Theres no question that Kiffin and Marinelli had a great gameplan today. McCoy and Celek i thought would be the problems but Kiffin made both non-**'n-Factors.

Go Cowboys 1st place

I dislike a majority of your post. Try and cope with the divisional road win.

One Int was a at the end of the half hail mary. Dez had a chance at it. Who cares... I dont get the part about he's losing it when he's having a good season. That doesn't make sense to me.

It shows you how fortunate we are when a guy can throw for 320 in a road win and people think he's 'off' that week. Hypothetically, had that jump ball at the end of the half gone our way--and Dez really should be expected to catch that ball--Tony'd have had, what, 370 and 2 TDs with that exact performance. On a bad day. I'll take that on a good one. :)

The two weeks following his 550 yards and 5 TD game, you mean? You guys are, seriously, unbelievable. On a side note, congrats to Tony for throwing for more yards in his first 100 games than anybody in the history of ever.

Even more than Marino after his 1st 100 starts. VERY impressive.

Yeah, I think that was a stat that Tony himself wasn't aware of until asked about it at his locker on Thursday. :) It's pretty interesting, and, honestly, I'm surprised by it. I knew he put up a ton of yards, but didn't think he'd top that category. Mostly because there are guys like Brees who are his contemporaries, and they tend to distract from his totals with great yardage seasons of their own.

Maybe he wasnt aware of it because he hasnt won anything. Numbers are good but im sure he along with everybody else in the cowboys organization would rather have a trophy. I understand that there have been some factors along way other than Romo. BUT when he's had a big game, he's blown it. He's done it to himself. When he's put the team in a spot to win, he's been his own undoing the majority of the time. IM not going to lie and say im a Romo fan because im not. But i know he's the best shot the Cowboys have a winning now. But with the team they have they can go out and draft that replacement and let him walk.

Stats dont mean anything unless the trophy is there too. Ask Fouts and Marino.

My random thoughts on the game today. Fair warning to half the posters here, it contains positive observations.

The big thing today IMO was the defense settling into Kiffen's scheme. You have to discount it somewhat because Philly played poorly but the defense is doing what it wants to. If the D Line was healthy this Defense would be dominating.

Lee, Carter and Church have all improved in coverage over their bad stretches. Even if you threw out the INT's they are clearly better positioned and more aware.

The big thing on Wilcox wasn't the plays he made, but the fact he bounced back from being pulled to play so well. Its huge that he is getting the playing time he is a raw rookie out of a small school, but its huge that he came back from being pulled to make several big plays.

The improvement from T Will from opening day to today is huge. I think Austin is gone after this year but if T Will starts next year with Austin healthy and playing in the slot, Romo is going to be a kid in a candy store.

If anyone has seen James Hanna, please call the front office. His mother is worried.

Wilber played OK but nothing special. Selvie made plays but I worry about him wearing down over the course of the season. For next season I think our reserves will be Selvie, Hayden, Nevis and Wilber and it will be a tremendous rotational group.

In the Hail Mary at the end of the first half, Dez probably could have made that catch. The fact we pretty much expect spectacular plays from him tells you what a phenomenal player he is.

Carr played very well and Claiborne was fine, which is all we need.

I thought Randle played well for a 21 year old rookie. He needs more reps, more time in this offense and more time in the weight room but did well for a 5th round rookie who left college a year early. Our draft this year looks like it will produce 5 starters and two solid rotational guys (Randle and Webb) which is a good haul for one draft.

I would bet 9 out of 10 times that Dez does catch that Hail Mary. And, he damn near did!

My guess is that the organization understands that teams win trophies and not players. Unless you're talking about OPotY. If so, I'd agree, I'd love for Tony to play well enough to win an OPotY trophy.

It really is sad, isn't it? When Tony tears it up these guys are no where to be found, but once he has a down game they come out like vultures. He really wasn't all that bad today, yes his accuracy was off a bit and he missed more throws then usual, but he still had a productive game.

If Dez catches that hail mary that went right through his hands, then these post don't even happen because Romo would've ended up with 350 yards, 2 tds, and 1 interception to go with the W. And no I'm not knocking Dez, it would've been a tough catch.

Anyways the most important thing is we got the W today, and to top it off it was against the Eagles!

In his 'defense,' OP is also complaining about the game where he tore it up for some reason. :)
