My Thoughts

how do you adjust to 8 in the box and making Weeden beat you. How do you adust to a defense that cant stop the run.

Let's not forget we had Devin Street and Terrance Williams as our starting wideouts.

Maybe now people know why this team after Cassel. Weeden just doesnt have the talent. He can check down with the best of them. But throwing it downfield is non existent for him. Cassel will be starting and should be starting next week.

Dallas couldnt run because Weeden couldnt challenge the defense.

This team put up a fight, but Weeden couldnt deliver and doesnt have the tools to lead this team. It is what it is. Pray this team doesnt take long to insert Cassel,

Wilcox is one of the worst safties in the NFL. His occassional hit or tip INT is not enough to say he should be starting.

OL dominated until ATL realized Weeden couldnt throw a pass longer than 5 yrds.

DEF just got tired, need more horses in the stable and they should be there week 5.

Those blaming Garrett need to stop.

ATL played off TW so i dont know why slants werent called his way, only thing i can think off is weeden just cant manage that,

Would be great week to play Cassel next week. NO should be without Brees again.

Off to week 4

Weeden wasn't the problem. We were not able to run the football in the second half.

that INT really bothered me. we had good lead and the ball. i believe its what got atlanta going bc they scored right after that and went into the half w mommentum. it also made garrett and weeden even more cautious about passes over 10 yards.

Agree with most of this, but the D was flat awful. I cant point one guy that I thought played well.

People are complaining about throwing downfield but without watching the all-22 how do you even know if they were open? You guys realize its Street and T-williams.. and Trufant basically shuts down one side of the field against average wrs like ours

it doesnt matter if is open !! at least keep them thinking you will thow downfield!!

Luke McCown played well for the Saints today. Much better than Weeden did for us.

Wilcox would get fooled by a falling leaf, his brain seems to freeze when a runner is approaching him in the open field. He had a nice pass break up in the endzone though, to be fair.

I agree...just a matter of how many games they give Weeden to produce a win. If they are 0-3 or 0-4 over the next month, then I think you see Cassel. There has to be a season to save once Romo and Dez return. Today we saw not only the limitations of Weeden but the defense as well...with inconsistent pressure. Marinelli draws ire as well, letting Julio Jones have a monster second half. That said, I agree about the defense, looking through Hayden's facemask late was allegorical for the entire defense. At some point the loss of talent is tough to overcome. They will get a huge lift from the return of Gregory, Hardy and McClain.

I would say that the Saints game will be a huge one, because wins will be hard to get against NE and Seattle...even NY, who will play much tougher at MetLife. Even the Eagles can look different by the first week of November.

I don't think you see Cassel for 3 - 4 weeks, seeing that he needs to learn the intricacies of the play-book or he may be no better than Weeden. We definitely won't see him against New Orleans. I think the Giants game would be the earliest we see him, if Weeden can't produce anything between now and then.

Can is be worse than Weeden npt being able to throw to a WR?

I'm still waiting to hear which downfield throws Weeden missed.

He dialed Williams' number early which drew a penalty and an ensuing first down. He then proceeded to put two passes right on Williams, both of which were inexcusable drops for an NFL WR. The only errant downfield throw was the overthrow to Witten.

Blaming the defense is just insane....Can people even name the starters on DL....They are the 2nd string preseason players for the most part, and Wilcox, He is your last line of defense...he is forced to make plays because the DL got beat, the LB are beat and the CBs need help....There are bigger problems then Wilcox..... We all know the defense has to hang on ,and just survive until they get Mincey, Hardy, RoMac and Gregory back....

My beef is the offense. You got to SCORE points and make 2nd half adjustments

Randle 11 rushes for 2 yds in the 2nd half,
WR were none existence in the entire game
OL out matched in the 2nd half (8 in the box)
Zero points in the 2nd half (hung out an already short handed D)

Did they coaches just think Atlanta was going to roll over....they made adjustments shut down the run game and drink and dunk offense......What adjustments did the Cowboys offense make....ZERO

We lost because Tony Romo and Dez are hurt and we are cursed with terrible luck we would have been a SB team this year and today ruined my 50th birthday and I'm sick of this damn bad luck during the entire Romo era it sucks

.

Your Wilcox hate is showing again.

No doubt he takes bad angles, and definitely needs to shore it up.

That said, he's twice the safety Church is.

Church covers as effectively as RW31

I hear you Bigdog, and I don't disagree...losing Terrell and then not having Mincey today just facilitated a collapse. I guess they figured that Atlanta would continue bad tackling, bad angles and bad discipline for another 30 minutes. You just knew that this game would not be won with just 28 points. Going forward, they need to find a way to get the Saints, Giants and Eagles because NE and Seattle will bring a high level of play at ALL positions. You would prefer to get Romo back at .500 or worse case, one game under.

Weeden wasn't the problem. We were not able to run the football in the second half.

why was that?because they played the run first because Weeden didnt show he was cabale of challenging them deep. Or challenge them period. Sooner or later a qb has to challenge the defense
