1. QB
2. WR
3. DE

RB is right there but I can live with Morris/McFadden for a year. TE deserves a mention. Witten is a man of the year candidate and all but his lack of movement skills limits the offense.

1. DL depth. Now-Tank, FA signing, KingCrawford, Suspended Gregory. Seriously thin on the DL.
2. CB. Only OS and fodder. Need 2 new CB's.
3. BJones to FS and need a new SS who can stuff the run and cover.
4. Succession QB. Need the next starting QB
5. Need a deep threat WR2
6. The next RT
7. RB depth or next starter
8. Linebacker depth
9. A TE

The three most important upgrades have changed since the last time I posted. First and foremost is the future of the Cowboys is the future QB named Wentz or Goff as runner up. The second is a change for me, that was a nose tackle that does more than play patty cake at the line of scrimmage and grabs the QB and the RB in the back field. The NT goes to number three and I now go with running back named Henry at number two. I now have the best OL, QB, and RB to kill defenses in the NFC East (and most of the DF in the league). The NT now does what Denver did last year with the real pressure coming up the middle and the DEs looking like Supermen (as we all know Defense wins championships). As for the other rounds best player available as long as we support the first three picks.

This is MY team change to get us winning more than 10 games a year to competing for championships.

We don't really have a nose tackle.. That's more of a 3-4 position.

You've done spent decent money on Thornton. Don't expect to get much more from a 1 tech

Cowboys can and should improve at every position when possible. Signing a guy like Thornton should never preclude the drafting of a better player if available. This is why Cowboys have no depth, Jerry does not believe in the "waves" theory. Denver signed Ware even when they had a guy like Von Miller on the squad, then proceeded to draft Shane Ray. Giants when they were competing for SBs in the past decade used to draft the best pass rusher every draft even when rushing the passer was their strength.

My positions to upgrade are:

1. FS
2. SS
3. MIKE

I'm a believer that if you're really good at both safety positions, the MIKE, center and QB...you're going to be a tough team to beat. We're already good at QB (although we need a future franchise QB) and center. The other positions leave a lot to be desired.

YR

Man,

You and I are on opposite ends of the spectrum.

Jones right now is our FS...and I think he is a pretty good one.

SS is definitely a spot to upgrade.

Mike? We have McClain who at worst is a top 15 MLB. I think we would have a hard time replacing him unless Jack is your guy and his knee is 100%.

I would say our biggest need and it isn't close is a pass rusher, most likely at DE but we still don't have much in proven pass rushers. Lawrence was pretty good the second half of last year, but a diskectomy is no joke. Right now, it is probably Lawrence and Mayowa as our opening day starters. So I don't care if it is right DE or left DE, it's our biggest need.

I would go DE, SS and then OLB....Wilber as a starter is just begging for an upgrade. CB would be the 4th need in my book before we start looking at offense.

We need a defensive end and a tackle

I don't think the problem is Jerry not believing in the waves theory, but Jerry not being able to get the talent to do it. Nick Hayden has kept a job here. Just keeping a job is bad enough, but to even have him starting is a joke. Jerry shouldn't take all the credit though, Rod is responsible for much of the mess. He came to the team with the arrogant attitude of coaching scrubs up until they was good players. Even he is not a good enough coach to do that if there is not much talent with the scrub to start with. I think Rod is really overrated more than any coach on the staff.

Hard to replace Hayden if the team never drafts a young player or signs a quality player. Signing guys who are tweeners and/or coming off injury, usually significant injury, is not an answer. Coaching up scrubs is never the answer. Agreed.
