There comes a point, when an organization gets associated with the number of thugs/bad boys/drug offenders that it allows into it's organization. The media frenzy has become an accepted standard for doing business in Dallas. If that isn't the way they wish to be seen, and in a similar light to the Cincinatti 'thugs,' then the team needs to correct that image strongly.

Now is not to be looking for a payoff that was desired with TO or a long list of reclamation projects. Salary cap adjustments really don't measure heart and full contributions to a team.

Greg Hardy get old?

He still wears on fans as well...

Need depth at LB.

Time to cut RO and get 1 or 2 players in here so they go through a proper training camp with the team. Waiting until the season start will not help the cohesiveness of the defense.

I don't care how good Marinelli is and the ball control we anticipate this offense creating, we're in a division where a lot of offense is on the horizon. This defense will get mangled in it's current state.

Good video.
Rolando McClain ILB$1,250,000$750,000$1,375,000----($750,000)

2016 Post June 1: $750,000
$3,375,000
This is McClains CAP numbers for this year.

Cut...
Save the $$$

Move on.

Send a message Jerry.

due to the suspension Ro loses 10/17's of any salary or bonus paid, that $ is also credited to the cap,
so you dont save any $ by cutting him.
They can either play him game 11 or cut him at that point, but it makes more sense to just use him at the end of the year
it wont cost much and they may like having him fresh at that point instead of wore out.

I really wanted Rolando McClain to soar to new heights with this team. It seemed like a brilliant move at first. He did a great job filling in for the injured Sean Lee in 2014. Since then, however, he just keeps doing crap that hurts the team. Plus, he didn't play all that great last season anyway. Time to cut his sorry ***. We would be better off finding the best LB we can afford on the free market. Don't wait the 10 weeks for him, only to get an out-of-shape McClain for the final 6 games. Cut him now. Then if some other team signs him, they have to wait out the 10 week suspension. If we cut him now and he's sitting out, none of those games count toward his suspension. They don't start counting until a new team signs him, if anyone is willing to take the risk. Let this bozo be someone else's problem.

With the lack of hard play I saw out of him last year....

Get rid of him.

Well sounds like you want to punish him, not do what is best for the team.
He may want to be cut lol.
I would keep him around, and decide week 10, it will cost them 0 to do that.

lack of hard play I saw out of him last year........... I could say that about half the team.

I would cut him just to send the message to Gregory and the team in general. There is a breaking point w/this FO and you have to clean up (both drugs and mindset) to stick around. I like Gregory admittedly so would do it just to get this team's locker room back to where it should be w/o a HC w/the backing of the GM, etc.

I don't like JG, but also know the main culprit(s) in general; I also like that JG is playing them at the tune of 6M a year tbh.:D It was clear as day in the war room this past draft that JG isn't involved in player acquisition or many decisions outside of game day time management and the internal team rep for JJ/SJ. How can players respect you when your " " are taken when trying to make personnel decisions (starters) and inflict discipline in TC and through the season?

Hardy made that very clear to the rest of the locker room and that's why he's on the NFL blacklist (he put himself there first admittedly). The only reason they re-signed Ro is that it is was the easy quick fix; no FA research needed and he just "tunes out" while Hardy talks in the locker room and surely on the practice field, etc. This was basically confirmed after the "exception rules" leaked by the FO recently via the media.

It's sickening how Jerry sees fit to "make exceptions" for Rolando, while Ro finds it so easy to demonstrate his appreciation by getting suspended. At some point you might think it would occur to Jerry to avoid playing the sucker and quit trying to get something for nothing. Simply put, it's a fool's game that's been going on for far too long now. It's, indeed, a rare GM who won't learn from past mistakes.

respectfully...you cut him and you don't even mention him. Let the other LBs that can play and don't have off the field limitations. Just my opinion.

The Raiders were known as the bad boys during their heyday and still won. Just win, baby, just win.

First question, did they have a problem showing up for work?

Were they doing drugs back then?

Did they work out on their own, instead of team directed practices and workouts?

No, the ground rules were different, even then. And this all happened after prohibition and before NFL rules on enhancement and pain remedies.

The level of play he brought to the game last year was not a top level.
I would rather someone else be out there.

Players went home between the season and TC back then, they did lots of drugs, alcohol, and steroids, and they missed all kinds of meetings and curfews.

Jones got a lot of his ethics about troubled players from Al Davis.

Then, it was all based upon performance on the field. Now, there isn't that shelf room, due to NFL rules.

Jerry has adjusted and adapted. He still walks the mile for his players...and the players, respect that, unless they are a Rat.

The ills still very prevalent with BMOC's at the college level, is a part of social acceptability in today's environments. Only thing different, and Jerry respects also, there are now repurcussions for running a foul.

Today, four to five strikes and you lose a year. McClain is at this point...and after promising to clean up his act. All he is left with now, is no act. That is real today, no matter the memories of Al Davis.

Think that Jason Garrett and his all on the line now, will allow McClain to be a 'dirty' Al Davis type of player?

But in today's NFL, the booze is still there. The Cowboys are but two seasons removed from an incident of stupid is as stupid does...with their defensive tackle. As to Al Davis, I doubt he ran his own still back then...
