In that case what about this

1 - OLB Ryan Shazier - Ohio State
2 - DE Scott Crichton - Oregon St
2 - DE Jeremiah Attaochu - Georgia Tech
3 - SS Telvin Smith - Florida State
3 - OT Billy Turner - North Dakota St
4 - CB Phillip Gaines - Rice
4 - OG Brandon Thomas - Clemson
5 - DT Caraun Reid - Princeton
6 - OT Matt Patchan - Boston College
7 - RB De'Anthony Thomas - Oregon
7 - FB Trey Millard - Oklahoma
7 - OG Kadeem Edwards - Tennessee St
7 - CB Aaron Colvin - Oklahoma
7c- DT Zack Kerr - Delaware
7c- DT Ken Bishop - Northern Illinois
7c- DE Chris McAllister - Baylor

before Thomas got injured, I was all for him.........now I will pass and go for another OG who can compete right away.

Christian Kirksey OLB Iowa would be a good mid round addition. Not as highly rated as Smith and Shazier but he's a RKG type with good coverage skills. I think Thomas would be a fun pick. Unlike in the past Linehan may come up with some creative ways to use him.

you know, iowa has dropped off the map the last few years as far as national attention, but they still produce some solid prospects. in fact, I know nothing of Kirksey.

I
Keep in mind that the SLB if off the field in the nickel which can be half the snaps in some games.

Who would be our Sam? TBH, I like Hollow Man, Lee, and Shazier in coverage...Hopefully Carter can improve in that area.

My gut feeling is that it will be:
WLB Holloman
MLB Lee
SLB Carter

Even if they draft Shazier, he might not start game 1. I think that they will want some stability with veteran type starters and then working the rookies in to the mix.

That's quite a haul from that trade...if you were able to pull it off, I would be quite happy with the return and the players that you picked...I might have some slight differences in the 7th, but I would be happy with this

I'm not sure bout Ford AND Attaochu as it seems that would be a little redundant, but can't complain about your willingness to find pressure players. It's great as it is but Telvin Smith or Shazier would make this almost a perfect mock for me.
A draft where Cowboys come out of this draft with either one of the LB's, Crichton, Reid, Turner, Millard (or Copeland) and Bishop I will be ecstatic. I think he each one can contribute in some form next year.

Not sure how plausible the trades are , especially the second given what SF paid last year, but think the Cowboys could make one similar to the first move down if the Browns don't pick a QB with there first pick and want to jump up and snatch one at #16.

later in the thread, I changed Ford to Shazier.
