Has UCLA set the date for their Pro Day? I can't find it online but will go and post about it if its open to the public.

Last year the UCLA Pro Day was March 10 so it could fall during a similar time frame.

I just wonder what team are going to think/say if they examine the knee and it's fully healed. I think some will raise the question as to what doctor said he wasn't cleared and why.
Happens every year though. And it happens with guys who aren't coming off of a fairly serious knee surgery. If you need to see a guy run in tights to know whether you want to pick him then there's a problem to begin with. And as RS12 said above, he's going to wait and then blow up the UCLA pro day and it all works out in his favor. Not the 1st or last time it will happen.

Personally, I think shuttle and cone drill are important measures of short area burst, which I think is important particularly for defensive players because its more reactionary.

My biggest issue is I question the competitiveness of guys who skip the combine test who are healthy. I want a guy who wants to go out and show what he can do every time he has a chance. I am not saying this is the case with Jack, but I think it's unusual how positive and gung-ho he is for his March pro-day, which will be specifically tailored to him, but he can't run at the combine.

It's not a huge issue, but it's going to make front offices think.

Do the math my friend....

If he injured his knee in September.....and needs @ lesat 6 months to heal....I think he is doing hte smart thing by waiting..and not pushing it. I'm sure everyone is disappointed that they won't see him perform....but I'd rather have him healthy come when the season starts.

The only thing that matters for Jack are the medicals.

He doesn't need to run a 40.
The LB drills are key but he'll do them at UCLA presumably.

His issues are instinct and tackling.. things he won;t do again until the NFL so it really doesn't matter much for his stock how he tests provided the knee is on target for 100%.

This does lend weight to Mayock ranking Jaylon Smith 1st. If you are taking an injured guy it is all even and you take the one who was better on tape.

You know the stop watch gets turbo charged at Pro days. Watch him run a 4.4 at UCLA.

Most definitely. Here's what i don't get though. A lot of these kids performing at their pro days come from major schools with top notch track programs. It seems odd that they are still hand timing these kids when the technology and equipment is already in place to get more accurate times.

In other words he made a business decision. That's fine, lots of players do it. That's just not the mentality I want from my #4 pick and a linebacker at that. I've torn my meniscus as well as an ACL, MCL and had reconstructive surgery on my ankle. I am well aware of the time frame for recovery and where I would be, and I am not half the athlete he is. The strength and conditioning work he is putting in right now is just as dangerous, if not more dangerous, than running in a straight line on field turf.

It's all opinion obviously and yes, it's nitpicking, but when you're talking about the #4 pick and a giant chunk of change for a non-premium position, every thing matter.
